Hey there readers, this is just a quick note to say Congratulations!!! to Marvel’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” on reaching it’s 100th episode which will air tonight on ABC. It’s a Marvel Television series and falls into the timeline of the big budget films that make up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here is the poster of celebration.
It was only a few weeks ago that Marvel’s “Agents Of SHIELD” closed out a very exciting and edge of your seat first half based on the introduction of the Ghost Rider. I admit that I didn’t see how such a character could even work in the television show but I remained hopeful and ended up being glued to the television each and every week as the story played out. Now that the holidays are over, the second half storyline begins with “LMD” which means “Life Model Decoy”.
I have to say that the last couple of seasons of the show have been great and there are enough inferences to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe to keep you aware of the shows connection to it. A name drop of a hero every so often or a circumstance that happened in another film are always par for the course and very welcome IMHO. As a fan of the S.H.I.E.L.D. mythology its great to find the Life Model Decoy stuff finally being introduced as its gone hand in hand with numerous comic series featuring the characters. As before the cast remains Clark Gregg, who reprises his role as Coulson from the film series along with Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Henry Simmons. If you’ve been watching the series please let me know what you thought of the Ghost Rider inclusion and how you think this new LMD scenario will be.
As I’ve already noted in related posts, I’m going to periodically be sharing the press releases that come about the heading right for us NY Comic Con 2016; I’ve begun this practice with this year’s event because it’s just so massive and is taking over other parts of the city. To see those posts just click the “reedpop” tag on this narrative and they will all open up for you to peruse. This one is rather special for me since it deals with the Marvel Studios programming and I am a fan of the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” show and ALL of the incredible Netflix series that we have been getting. There is a lot to read so check it out.

The San Diego Comic Con might be over as you read this but as I have already mentioned, when this convention happens I find myself busy tossing together posts about trailers for upcoming films or the skimpiest of teaser clips and another one of the reveals was for the upcoming season of “Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.”. Check it out below and then I will offer some quick thoughts.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: For me I think that “AOS” is treading water at this point but its not for lack of trying. I think a little more connection to the Marvel Universe is needed and considering the visage at the close of the teaser we are going to get just that in the form of Ghost Rider. Personally speaking I think I would rather see him back on the big screen but without Nicholas Cage in the role and without whoever wrote that last horrendous film. With all the great MCU films, its time to take a walk on the dark side don’t you think? Hopefully we will see a trailer with a bit more “oomph” to it soon. What do you readers think about the inclusion of Ghost Rider on “AOS”, do you watch the show at all? Let me know in the comments section below.
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its television connected series will be excited to know that tonight will be the Season 3 premier of “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and if you are one of those viewers who decided to give up early on in the first season you have been missing out. Check out the brief premise for S3 along with the poster and cast and then I will return with some thoughts.
The third season of the American television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division), revolves around the character of Phil Coulson and his team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and allies, who begin a secret mission to assemble a team of Inhumans to deal with new threats to the world, while others are also tracking down members of the group. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The season is scheduled to premiere on ABC on September 29, 2015, and consist of 22 episodes.
