Hey Fiends, so you know we’ve discussed the DC Comics Vertigo based show “Lucifer” here on the website, and I wanted to remind you that tonight is the season finale of the third season. Actually, I have a little bad news for you because tonight’s episode is in truth the series finale as it was cancelled by Fox a couple of days ago. Let’s review the premise and casting once more before the episode.
The Premise: The series will focus on Lucifer, “who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals”.
Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar
Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze
Lauren German as Chloe Dancer
Kevin Alejandro as Dan
Rachael Harris as Linda Martin
D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel
Scarlett Estevez as Trixie
Tricia Helfer as Charlotte Richards/”Mum”
Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez
Tom Welling as Lieutenant Marcus Pierce/Cain
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve already admitted to never really having read the comic series and that’s fine as far as this show is concerned since they are vastly different. I did enjoy the show and will miss it in some sense since I’ve been keeping up with most of the comic book themed shows. According to what I’ve read there are a couple of episodes that haven’t been aired and these will likely be added to a home video collected edition of the series. I honestly don’t think Fox is going to waste airtime on something that they found the need to cancel. Tom Ellis was great as was Maze if I had to pick my favorites. They would be fun to turn up on “Legends Of Tomorrow” for some kind of weird episode. Anyway, let’s see how this all plays out later on. Thanks for reading.
Hey there my readers, its time to take a walk on the dark side as the quirky supernatural crime drama “Lucifer” returns to the Fox Network for its second season. Check out the sinister poster and the cast along with a light premise below.
The series focuses on Lucifer Morningstar, “who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals”. Lucifer runs a piano bar in Los Angeles called “Lux”, with the assistance of his demonic ally Mazikeen or “Maze”. After a minor celebrity whom Lucifer once helped achieve fame is murdered outside his club, Lucifer becomes involved with the LAPD when he takes it upon himself to assist Detective Chloe Decker in finding the one responsible so that he can “punish them”. Did you ever read DC Comics Vertigo series “Lucifer”? I remember reading a few issues since it was Neil Gaiman but I never kept up with it as I mostly preferred the costume fare when it came to my own comic book reading. Anyway, yesterday Fox released the trailer for the upcoming show that is based on this series and I have to admit it looks rather interesting. Check it out and I’ll be back.
The Premise: Lucifer is an upcoming American television series that is set to air on Fox, and it is a loose adaptation of the comic book character created by Neil Gaiman for the comic book series The Sandman and its spin-off comic book series Lucifer written by Mike Carey, both published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint. The series was officially picked up on May 9, 2015 for the 2015–16 season and it is scheduled to premiere in 2016. The series will focus on Lucifer, “who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals”.
