“Dear Lamb of God fans,

We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record.

We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.

We’re very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Thank you,

John, Mark, Randy & Willie”

Chris Adler in LOG (2016) by Ken Pierce

PiercingMetal Thoughts: It was recently reported that Adler was doing the drumming for the Heavy Metal supergroup HAIL! who were set to perform in Russia for a brief tour. At the time of this announcement there has NOT been any kind of statement from Adler about his departure from the band. I’ve not witnessed Art in the lineup yet but I am sure that he has the chops to propel a band like LOG forward on the live stage. I will sure miss Chris though since his style was such a unique and tactical one. As news comes to light about this development I will look to keep on top of it all. You readers can chime in with your thoughts about the matter down in the comments section below.

Exit 111 Announces Full Details For Inaugural Event

Music fans in my neck of the woods are going to be looking into relocation before October hits based on this sure to be crushing Festival event. It’s the kind of music festival my friends and I clamor for but instead we get The Governors Ball and Panorama Music Festival. Sigh. Anyway, without further adieu I share with you the announcement about the debut of the Exit 111 Music Festival. Read on down below to the full press release and prepare to be stunned by the lineup.

The Press Release:
EXIT 111 Festival will debut with a heavyweight line-up that celebrates all forms of rock–from hard to classic, alternative to southern–when it debuts October 11-13 at the Great Stage Park in Manchester, TN. The inaugural three-day event hosted by Eddie Trunk will be led by headlining slots from Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a mix of platinum-selling artists including Slayer (in the last Tennessee show of their career), ZZ Top, Deftones, Ghost, Megadeth and more than 40 acts (full line-up below). Produced by C3 Presents and AC Entertainment, the massive footprint of the festival site–known to millions as the home of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival–will be transformed into a rock and roll playground with the all-star line-up appearing on three stages with 12 hours of music daily, camping and a variety of activities tailored specifically to concert-goers. This marks the first-ever event, beyond Bonnaroo, to utilize the 700-plus acre farm. On site adventures include Paranormal Cirque (an R-rated crazy yet fun fusion between circus, theatre, and cabaret in perfect harmony with the evolution of a show that brings you back to when we dream…and when we had nightmares and fantasies), the first annual EXIT 111 car show, Red Bull motocross demonstrations and a mega sports bar airing full sports coverage throughout the weekend, with more activities announced soon.

It was well over a year ago that we first reported about the Slayer “Final World Tour” (seen HERE for those who are just joining us here on the website). Back in December, the band announced “LEG 5” of this Farewell Run and while the finer details can be perused HERE, this last go round begins in May. All of this leads me to the press release that recently hit my mailbox. Check it out.

It was just a short time ago when the news began circulating about Slayer and the Fifth Leg of their “Final World Tour”. The North American run will feature support from Lamb Of God, Amon Amarth and Cannibal Corpse and the bands full itinerary was outlined HERE. Since the other bands would be releasing their own thoughts and some expanded press notes, I’ve chosen to shine the spotlight on each of them. Here is the Press Release from Lamb Of God.
