Metallica fans will want to get their credit cards out and have them ready to order up a copy of this brand-new live, acoustic album. The proceeds are going to a charity of the bands choosing and you can see more about this down below the cover art.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last couple of years, you probably already know that Ghost is one of the breakthrough artists on the Hard Rock scene and despite their garish looks, their melodies are quite accessible and not as over the top heavy as some might assume. Also hot at the moment is the Instagram social network and to help celebrate the bands new album and songs, they have taken to the medium to deliver what is called an “Instagram Story Video”. Check it out below and I will give my overview afterwards.
The rumblings were hitting the Internet all weekend as the anticipation of another Metallica tour made the rounds. Now the moment is here and the tour dates have been unveiled. You can check them out down below along with the press release to see if the band will be laying down the Thrash at an arena near you.
The Press Release:
They dropped a few hints this past weekend and now it is official… Metallica’s WorldWired Tour returns to North America this Fall! Following last summer’s 25 date sold-out stadium run, this year Metallica is bringing the in-the-round production currently being seen in European arenas to the U.S. and Canada kicking off on September 2, 2018, in Madison, WI. Along the way they will be visiting 34 cities that they did not go to last year, and a few that they haven’t been to in decades, including Grand Forks, ND (nearly 30 years), Sioux Falls, SD, El Paso, TX, Birmingham, AL (nearly 26 years) and State College, PA (20 years). About time, wouldn’t you say?!
The Fall/Winter tour will mark a few firsts for the band. Each show will get rolling with the Light It Up pre-show party hosted by their very good friend Jim Breuer. Jim, along with a DJ to get the night rocking with some great tunes, hits the stage before the band with comedy, fan interaction, giveaways and much more. And if you love to travel and one show just isn’t enough, then perhaps the Wherever I May Roam Black Ticket is for you! For the first time in ‘Tallica history, you may purchase one ticket that will allow you floor access to any Metallica show on the 2018/2019 North American tour. Feel like trucking to Tulsa? Booking to Boise? Motoring to Minneapolis? No problem… you pick the show, call us no less than 48 hours before the gig and you’re in! A limited number of 250 of these Black Tickets* will be available for $598 (yes… celebrating the re-issue of the Garage Days Re-Revisited EP!). All sale dates and times below.
Of course, some things don’t change! As they have been doing for most of the WorldWired shows, every ticket purchased includes your choice of a standard physical or standard digital copy of Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. Keep it for yourself or gift it to a friend or family member. You’ll receive info via e-mail after your ticket purchase on how to obtain your copy.** The enhanced experience options designed to take your Metalli-night to the next level are also returning as Metallica continue to partner with the team that makes it all happen at CID Entertainment. You’ll have three options of special enhanced experiences, including premium tickets and amenities ranging from early access to the venue and the “Memory Remains” exhibit of memorabilia to meeting some of the band(!) Today is also the day that the mighty Metallica is celebrating a bit of an anniversary as their extended play “The $5.98 EP: Garage Days Re-Revisited” is thirty years old today. Do you own this one? I must admit that I do not have this on LP but clearly remember seeing it in the bins at numerous record shops back in the day when it had come out. However, since I didn’t recognize any of the songs that they were doing I just didn’t want to take a chance on spending money that could be used on something else KISS or Iron Maiden related at the time. You see back in 1987, I wasn’t really the biggest of Metallica fans but I did purchase their “Master Of Puppets” at Tower Records at the moment that it was uncrated with my friends. I discussed that Music Milestone HERE if you’d like to refresh your memory. Now as usual this is mostly personal recall instead of deep liner notes since you can read all of that stuff down on the Wikipedia link below. There is no sense in repeating what their editorials have already accomplished. Continue reading Still Thrashin’! Metallica’s “The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited” Hits 30 (1987-2017)→
“Gimme Fuel, Gimme Fire, Gimme Toys That I Desire!!!” So you’ve seen us discuss the fine offerings from the Funko folks in our yearly Toy Fair coverage and while the company makes a whole lot of cool things, their biggest seller of them all is the Pops! They are super collectible figures and cover so many different licensed properties that its safe to say if you have a favorite character that there is very likely a Pop for them. Over the years they’ve made several music Pops and have done KISS, BabyMetal and even Guns N Roses – Now it’s time to showcase their Metallica Pops and they are so awesome that you just might get “Whiplash” when you see them. Sorry that was terrible but check them all out below along with a brief bit of company press copy.
The Press Release:
One of the most influential rock bands of all time is now joining the Funko family! This series of Pop! music includes all four members of the legendary band Metallica! Add James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo to your collection this Summer.
