In keeping up with getting you the information that you need as fast as possible for our 2018 Musical Year, let me share the poster that those folks in Kaleido recently posted. The band is going to be on the next “Shiprocked” Cruise which sure sounds like a blast, and afterwards they will be hitting the road as both a headliner and by supporting a band called The Letter Black. Since the poster is pretty clear, I’ll not be lining out the individual dates one by onw and say “read on”……
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Sadly, I’m not going to Shiprocked and since my city was recently blanketed by a pile of the white with subzero temperatures I really wish that I was. I’ve managed to catch Kaleido a couple of times when they made their way to good ole NYC and think that their rocking style works on all levels. Sometimes there is a Pop vibe to the deliver and at others they pack a powerful punch so I’d say give them a try if one of these gigs is hitting your vicinity. I’m going to hope that they pay our Big Apple a visit soon as I feel its been too long between trips. Having met Christina Chriss (their dynamic singer) and the rest of the guys (Joey, Cody and Ronnie) I can say that they are great people who all get a charge out of their supporters. Trust me on this one. Okay, back to the grind and hoping to keep warm as NYC drops below 0 degrees. You can let me know what you think of this tour if you plan on going and if you are one of the people embarking on that cruise be sure to catch their set and send them our best. Cheers.

Through a slightly silly case of mistaken identity, I recently met lead singer Christina Chriss of the band Kaleido along with the rest of the band and after some quick exchange was determined to use some of these press powers to help them along. Usually, I will review an album or single then watch a video before seeing them live and with this case it would be completely backwards. As noted in the concert review on THIS LINK, catching the group in concert made me an instant fan which leads me to quickly discuss this super-hot single of theirs “Open Your Eyes”. I also have a longer full album review of their self-titled, but the time demands find me working on the discs single first. Here we go. Continue reading “Open Your Eyes” (Single) by Kaleido→

So a funny thing happened on the way to the Baroness show, or actually to be more specific a funny thing happened AT the Baroness show that I was attending just the other night at Irving Plaza. Let me explain…….
Periodically when I’ out on these concert reporting and photographing adventures I like to capture some of the faces that I see around me and at the recent “Gigantour” at the Hammerstein Ballroom I photographed the girl working merchandise Black Label Society and figured to include her in those shots. When I thought that I saw her at Baroness out of the corner of my eye, I wandered over to say a quick hello only to find myself visually mistaken and slightly embarrassed at my apparent need of some kind of glasses at long last. As I talked to her the guy standing next to her handed me a sticker that said “Kaleido”. I would then learn that they were themselves a band who had a night off and were visiting our fair Metropolis before doing a couple of regional gigs and then performing on the Uproar Festival. Pretty cool. That brings us to now. Continue reading Kaleido @ Santos Party House (8/16/2013)→
