Babymetal Announces Sophomore Album/USA 2016 Tour

Just when you thought it was all some kind of crazy dream and the clarity had once more hit your mind, the Mega-Sensation Babymetal have returned with news about a sophomore album and a triumphant return to US Soil. Check out the official press release below along with some images that they provided and then I will return with some thoughts on the matter.

BABYMETAL: ACCLAIMED ALL-GIRL-FRONTED JAPANESE HEAVY METAL/TEEN-POP HYBRID GROUP ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM
–SET FOR RELEASE APRIL 1 VIA RAL/SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT IN THE U.S.–AND INITIAL U.S. DATES FOR “BABYMETAL WORLD TOUR 2016”

BABYMETAL–2015’s breakout all-girl-fronted Japanese heavy metal/teen-pop hybrid group–announced their sophomore album will be released April 1, 2016 via RAL/Sony Music Entertainment (for the U.S. release only) and revealed their initial U.S. tour dates on their “BABYMETAL WORLD TOUR 2016” (full tour itinerary below). The new album (title TBA) is available now to pre-order via the BABYMETAL’s official webstore, both as stand alone CD and special pre-order bundles. News of the new album was revealed in front of BABYMETAL’s hometown fans over the weekend during their two headlining shows at Japan’s Yokohama Arena (26,000 people in attendance over two days). BabyMetal Prepped To Invade NYC With Metal & Cute In November 2014

Baby Metal is a quickly growing musical phenomenon that hails from Japan and had apparently only started up about two years ago. I actually first heard of them thanks to the guys at Metal Sucks who seemed fascinated by their existence and when I investigated for myself I found three absolutely adorable Japanese singers/dancers whose names are Moametal, Su-Metal and Yuimetal respectively. Behind them is a crushing Metal band of players and the show that they have on hand is not too far off from a KISS experience in terms of the special effects they employ. They recently opened up the Lady Ga Ga shows but since I did not attend those I cannot offer up anything more than “if GaGa thinks they’re good enough it might be worthy of a larger analysis. Earlier today I learned that the group will be headlining a show at the famous Hammerstein Ballroom and this event appears to be the only East Coast appearance. It seems like a great way to start off your November.
