Welcome back my friends, you have safely arrived at the second chapter of my coverage of the NY Comic Con. I’m still on the Day One stuff and if you’ve missed any of the posts that preceded this one, just click on THIS LINK as it will open a battery of content for you. I’ll make sure to add this tag to every intro going forward so its easier to keep up with the fun but now let’s get right back into the mix of NYCC 2017. I’m still wandering around the area known as “The Block” and sometimes I find some interesting stuff around here. Let’s continue with the help of this horrific looking Venom. You know he has a movie coming out next year as well.
Hello my friends and let me welcome you to the first chapter of PiercingMetal’s comprehensive visuals and notes from the 2016 NY Comic Con that is being held over at the Jacob Javits Center on Manhattan’s West Side. The convention began yesterday and I am happy to report that I was once again attending as a member of the media and that I took a lot of photos over the course of the first day. For those who are new to our presentations, we do the NYCC in this fashion – It’s broken up into day by day observances with a few chapters each and generally no more than “50” images in each post so the tagging is not impossible to follow. My first image was taken of the folks that were lined up outside of the Hammerstein Ballroom for one of the many panels that was going to be held there. This line went all the way down to the corner of the avenue. It blows my mind.
Here are a wonderful “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Cosplay group.
I can hardly believe that its October already but we are here at that time of year once again and one thing that October brings when you live in NYC is the NY Comic Con. Yes my dear readers, NYCC has arrived and taken over the Jacob Javits Center for its 2015 Mega-event. This is a special year for NY Comic Con because it is the 10th year that they are doing it and as you might expect, it sold out very far in advance outside of a few small batches of tickets that were kept for use at another convention and for Midtown Comics. Once again I was fortunate enough to secure the Press Credentials and since these badges look so awesome I am sharing it with you below. They seem to be keeping with “The Walking Dead” show premise and the media badge has Rick Grimes displayed. Check it out before we get started.
These posts will limit the chit chat unless I deem it necessary and as per my usual practice will feature about fifty photos per narrative for each respective days focus. It’s easier for you to visually digest and lets the parties presented find themselves better. Now as I’d mentioned, this years event was the 10th for the NY Comic Con and my oh my how it has grown. Personally speaking, I come from an era where if you told friends that you were going to the comic convention they would look at you like you had three heads. Today its grown so far beyond comics it will stagger the imagination. These giant logo standups were positioned all around the Javits Center in honor of the milestone. Smart Cosplayers made sure to do shoots in front of them.
Hey there my readers, we have arrived at that time of the year again and I am speaking of nothing less than the ever expanding and ever fantastic NY Comic Con. For four days this massive event was going to take over the Jacob Javits Center on the West Side of the Big Apple and this year would expand its reach for what they were calling “The Super Week”. This extended presentation would feature special appearances and events outside the normal confines of time at the four days at the Javits but my heavy duty concert calendar for this week was going to keep me from doing all but one of their broadcast events. I’ll speak about that later. The Official Press badge along with the other passes for the Con are decorated with images from “The Walking Dead” and this has been the case for a couple of years now. Time to work that media magic so here we go.
You might remember that last year was the 75th Anniversary of Superman, and this year we would be doing the same sort of hoopla for the Dark Knight himself, the one and only Batman. One of the side sections of the Javits had a massive bat emblem on its wall that could be seen from far away and in this Hall of Justice (for lack of a better term) were representations of many of the Batman costumes that had been portrayed in film over the years. I made sure to snap a shot of each one of them for your viewing pleasure.
Hey there readers and welcome back to the continued narratives from the 2013 NY Comic Con. I’m up to chapter two from the Day Three part of the convention and since this is the Saturday part of the whole enchilada that means I have my work cut out for me. Its technically the most populated day of them all. What better way to start today’s chapter then by featuring “Devo Duck” from Toy Tokyo. We’re still in “The Block” and I’ll be chiming in when possible. I don’t think you need me to label every single cosplayer we found.
