I’ve said for awhile that is was time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get more cosmic and what better way to do it than to bring “The Guardians Of The Galaxy” to the big screen in the teams live-action debut. Check out the poster below and then we can discuss a little deeper.
The Premise: I will not even defer to the film’s Wiki entry because their plot reveals too much for me to share in this new broadcast post but essentially the film features a disparate and rag tag group of unlikely heroes from numerous worlds and species. When Thanos dispatches a dangerous henchman Ronan The Accuser to retrieve an artifact that he needs they band together and realize that they can help protect the galaxy from threats of this kind. The trailers have shown that there is a healthy dose of tongue in cheek comedic lines to be found in the film but I am okay with that since Marvel always did have a sense of humor when it was necessary. I don’t think we will be getting slapstick here so don’t worry. I like what I have seen so far and I really enjoyed the original Guardians team that had Starhawk, Charlie – 27, Martinex and Vance Astro so I am hopeful that this does the task that it is supposed to and expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos where so much more cool stuff awaits its fans. Can Captain Marvel or Adam Warlock be far from making appearances or am I dreaming while typing this narrative for you. Only time will tell. Readers might be interested in learning that while the film is only opening up today is the everywhere sense, they have already confirmed that we shall see a sequel. I think I know where “Avengers 3” will be heading. So let’s take a look at the cast and tell me my friends will you see this film? What are your hopes? Please no spoilers if you have somehow been lucky enough to see it somewhere. Continue reading Opening Today: “Guardians Of The Galaxy” (8/1/2014)→
You’ll have to pardon my tardiness in showcasing these brand spanking new “Guardians Of The Galaxy” character posters for the upcoming film of the same name, but they came to the public eye when I was just getting into the redevelopment of the PiercingMetal.com website. Yeah we moved to WordPress a bunch of days ago and that leaves us here on the Official Blog with only the movie, comic book and toy stuff. I am still debating whether or not to merge everything but let me see how the other transition goes first. Anyway, I digress and say below you will find a bunch of awesome character posters from the film. I don’t think I need to say who’s who since they have the names on them – enjoy.
Continuing along with the now monthly presentation of the Marvel Comics titles that are being delivered under their branding of the “All-New Marvel Now!” here are the brand new first issues that we shall be seeing in May of 2014. There is not a lot of brand new title releases with this particular month but we do have some offerings that come to you free of charge thanks to “Free Comic Book Day” (and I will toast this in a post as well tomorrow for good measure).
This year Marvel Studios is releasing a major motion picture with their creations “The Guardians Of The Galaxy” and while I am still on the fence about this particular film based on the trailer, this post is about the incredibly detailed action figures that will be coming out care of Hasbro Toys as they continue the Marvel Infinite Legends Series. I’ll keep it brief and let the photos do the talking and then offer up my thoughts at the close about this line.
Longtime readers know how PiercingMetal has been attending and covering the Toy Fair since 2011 and bringing them the latest scoop on the coolness that falls right into our interest wheelhouse. Sadly, the Hasbro Show Room is offsite at this event and we did not get to go there but we did get some access to press provided images on several lines that I liked the most from this line. The photos do not show the figures in the packaging which is alright and they start off with “Drax The Destroyer”. Armed with a couple of knives Drax clearly means business.
Since this appeared only recently I wanted to share with you readers on the quick to stir up some dialogue.
Here is the official trailer for the upcoming Marvel Comics film “Guardians Of The Galaxy”; It will expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos and by doing so will open up numerous new worlds of possibilities for the fans of these characters. Marvel does sure have some bitchin’ cosmic entities after all.
