The Press Release:
Today, The Original Misfits announced a very special 2019 U.S. date that will take place Saturday, June 29th at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. The Original Misfits features original singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig and original bassist Jerry Only. Rise Against, The Distillers, Anti-Nowhere League and Cro-Mags will join the epic event as special guests.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, April 5th at 10am local time at LiveNation.com.
From the time of their first gig in 1977, the MISFITS and their iconic imagery went on to become one of the most crucially influential, genre-defying bands to ever emerge from North America. The MISFITS significance extends well beyond the narrowed path of punk rock, metal & hardcore. Although not cognizant of how significant they would become, what the Original MISFITS achieved in their initial seven-year window deconstructed and redefined rock music.
The MISFITS with Danzig’s anthemic songs and unmistakable voice, Only’s ferocious bass sound, and the Original MISFITS melody-induced choruses and authentically bruising musicianship, cemented their importance with all ensuing generations. And now legions of diehard fans from around the world will have the opportunity to hear the Original Band that forges a level of intensity unprecedented in the new millennium. Don’t miss this important chapter in the legendary band’s legacy of brutality.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: All I will add to this is that if you can secure a ticket that you should do it. My friends and I caught the show at the Prudential Center some months back and it was a thrill ride into Horror Punk history. We don’t have any photos from it of course since no professionals appeared to be permitted and the venue enforced a strict lock your mobile device in a protective bag for the show so thanks for that Glenn. I still loved the experience and think that this is something that the fans will enjoy. I highly suggest you get their early enough to see all of the acts. Don’t miss out and instead get your money’s worth. What do you think about this? Chime in down below.
Hold onto your hats Chicago because The Original Misfits are coming back to visit you and will likely leave a whole lot of chaos in their wake. Sadly, I didn’t see any sort of press copy that lines out and extols the colorful history of the group and only received the poster below in my email. Since this is a one night only experience, I am thinking that it speaks volumes just the same. Do you agree?
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Having recently caught this show at Newark’s Prudential Center, I’ve gotta say that you are going to want to get yourself out to this if you live in the region and can do so. Hearing these songs done by their original creators once again teamed up was fantastic for me, and of course my show also featured guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein with compliments from Acey Slade (guitar) and Dave Lombardo (drums). I’m not sure why Doyle isn’t mentioned on this poster but perhaps he is being held back as a big surprise reveal. I would hate that fans of the classic lineup would miss out on him if he had other touring commitments at the time of this show but let’s see what happens. The openers for this performance are also strong with the legendary Punk group Fear and Venom Inc. and Power Trip. It’s the kind of show that you are going to want to arrive for nice and early to enjoy all of the bands. Oh and before I go, let me point out that considering how the last few shows were, this one is very likely also going to be a no-phone show which means you must secure your mobile device in a sealed pouch or leave it locked in your car hidden from prying eyes. That’s all I have on this one, what do you think about the news? Are you excited? Or could you care less? Chime in down below.

The other day a rather “cryptic” Instsgram photo was making the rounds and causing all sorts of ruckus. It was the “Fiend” who many realize is the infamous mascot of the legendary Misfits. The visual was in the shape of NJ so all were screaming about the bands long anticipated return to the East Coast but where would they play? Well, the answers are now down below. Check it out.

Despite his rough exterior and angry bad boy attitude, Glenn Danzig put smiles on hundreds of faces at the Wellmont this past September. It goes without saying, but Danzig’s following gave the local hero a warm Jersey welcome as they anxiously stood wrapped around the block totaling enough metal studs and apparel to conquer a small city.
Touring in support of his newest release, “Black Laden Crown,” Glenn no doubt kept to his notorious high standards regarding opening acts. Another superstar tour paraded young(er) guns: Mutoid Man and Corrosion of Conformity. There was not a dull moment as both bands did their job by exciting the crowd and maxing out the enthusiasm.
Danzig made it to the venue just in time for his set, which he killed. Starting on the right foot with “SkinCarver,” the audience was captivated from the first growl and continued to display their moshing zeal right into the classic, “Twist of Cain”. “How the Gods Kill,” “Dirty Black Summer,” and “Last Ride” were all highlights of the show. There was no stopping the vehement shock of an innocent bystander each time a wild mosher piled into them. But with that being said, is there such a thing as an innocent Danzig fan? Doubtful. Rightfully so, the show went on just as expected, loud, energetic, and violent. Continue reading Danzig @ The Wellmont Theatre (9/9/2017)→
