Hello my friends and welcome to July where the summer is only going to get hotter thanks to the awesome comic book releases and the soon to be opening film “Spider-Man: Far From Home”. That film opens tomorrow so if you’ve fallen behind about it, just click HERE to see the Official Trailer so you are well informed. Oh and super important is the news that “Avengers: Endgame” has returned to the theaters and is slowly closing in on “Avatar” to become the highest grossing film of all time. Let’s make that happen my fellow geeks since it’s at $2.62 billion or something like that as I post this latest narrative. So there are a LOT of issues coming from Marvel Entertainment this month and you are going to want a lot of them. As usual, the finer details and any posted images come from their provided resources and the closing editorial is all me. Let’s go.

Now we are onto the new launches from DC Comics for those who are following our Pop Culture comic books focuses. There are not a whole lot of brand new first issues launching this month but the summer is officially approaching so we have that lull and the focus becomes hitting the movies and even going outside much more than hunkering down in your respective cave reading comic books. As always there are more continuing series running but I don’t post those and instead focus on the brand new. Images and text original from DC Comics media resources and my closing editorial is all me. Let’s look.
EVENT LEVIATHAN #1: The groundbreaking and always-inventive team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Alex Maleev (Jinxworld’s SCARLET, Marvel’s Daredevil) reunite on a mystery thriller that stretches across the DC Universe and touches every character from Batman to Superman to the Question to Talia al Ghul. With startling ease, a newly dangerous and aggressive Leviathan wipes out all its competition and now turns its sights to molding the world into its vision of order. Can the new threat’s growth be stopped…and who’s guiding its new agents of chaos?

SUPERMAN YEAR ONE #1: From the burning world of Krypton to the bucolic fields of Kansas, the first chapter of SUPERMAN YEAR ONE tracks Clark Kent’s youth in Kansas, as he comes to terms with his strange powers and struggles to find his place in our world. DC BLACK LABEL is proud to present the definitive origin of Superman as rendered by the legendary comics creators Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.! PRESTIGE FORMAT

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So as you can see not a lot of brand-new launches and with these two I will most likely be waiting until they are in a single collected edition. I need to move some of my single issues over to storage or sell them off to make some room. That’s unless I love the series when I peruse them on the shelves but what about you readers? Will you be picking up either of these new series? Chime in down below and I will see you next time around.
Hello my Marvelous Media Maniacs and welcome to June which as you will see down below, stands to be a great month for cool first issues and special edition premieres care of the mighty House Of Ideas. So before I begin this rundown I am curious as to how many times you have seen “Avengers: Endgame” by now. Initially, my plan was to have seen it at least three times by now because the matinee in my area is only $6 on a Wednesday and there is no beating that but sadly the flexible time had escaped me with night before shows and a few conventions. As a matter of fact, as you read this narrative I will be making my way over to Greenpoint for the Five Points Festival and then tomorrow over to the Javits Center for Book Con. Earlier in the week I was at Book Expo so as you can see a very busy week but I digress. Let’s get on down to business and see the overview of what is coming our way care of press information and images from Marvel themselves. I will be closing up as per usual with additional Editorial pontification.

Hey there readers and welcome to our Media Month of May. I generally say “Metal Month Of May” but that is for the musical reports and not the Pop Culture stuff. So before I get started I need to ask you readers if you have seen “Avengers: Endgame” yet or not. I just saw it this past Monday and was blown away by the spectacle and how they closed up the first chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I will not spoil it for any of you of course but do your best to avoid the social networks and pretty much anything that shares news because there are spoilers everywhere. Now let’s get down to business with the May first issues and special editions coming from the Marvel Comics side of the fence.
SAVAGE AVENGERS #1: The most savage, most unkillable team of characters in the Marvel Universe is assembled! Wolverine! Venom! Elektra! Punisher! And in their midst – Conan the Barbarian! Conan has returned to the Marvel Universe and his new adventures begin here. What is the City of Sickles? Who is the Marrow God? How is the Hand involved? The roughest and most dangerous characters rumble through this new title starting with…Conan vs. Wolverine? ’Nuff said.

WAR OF THE REALMS STRIKEFORCE: THE DARK ELF REALM #1: THE PUNISHER LEADS THE CHARGE TO SHUT DOWN THE BLACK BIFROST! Deep in the swamps of Svartalfheim stands the Black Bifrost, Malekith’s corrupted Rainbow Bridge and the only reliable means of travel between the realms with the true Bifrost in pieces. If the gods are going to stop Malekith’s invasion, the Black Bridge must fall. With her son missing and husband injured, Lady Freyja must take up the challenge herself. But she won’t go alone.
