In the past, a Monday always generally started with some tour announcements so let’s start ours with some 50/50 news from the Symphonic Sensations of Nightwish. The band recently announced the cancellation of all 2020 tour dates for North America but at the same time have revealed some rescheduled ones. Let’s look.
The Band Statement:
Due to the current situation surrounding covid-19 in North America we are forced to postpone our shows.
I’ve been doing my best to keep the masses informed in regards to the tour and special event cancellations and the streaming experiences that seem to pop up on a regular basis based on the aforementioned postponements. With that being said, the Finnish band Battle Beast revealed that they too will be embarking on a special live stream event and this one follows the one that we announced from The 69 Eyes by happening the following day. Bands announcing special streaming concerts is no longer new news as the Coronavirus Pandemic reaches its third month or so and finds events postponed until later or cancelled in full still being announced. THE 69 EYES released their apocalyptically titled new album West End last fall and started their all year lasting 30th anniversary world tour. Dear fans in USA and Canada. Amorphis is sad to announce that due to the Covid-19 also our ”Tales From The Thousand Lakes” anniversary-tour is cancelled. We were optimistic to the very end but it looks like there’s not going to be any tours for quite a while now. However, the anniversary-tour will happen. A rescheduling of the tour dates is planned but obviously not set yet as nobody knows how long this pandemia is going to take. Like many of the tours that were supposed to be coming around, the one for Insomnium was cancelled due to the at the time building Coronavirus Pandemic. Sadly, the band had just arrived and did one gig before going right back to Finland. We discussed that HERE and so many others followed based on the virus. Finland’s Melodic Death Metal band, INSOMNIUM will play an exclusive worldwide live stream show on Friday May 29th starting at 1PM EDT. The stream broadcast will start half an hour before showtime and will be availalbe for 7 days after the show. The band will perform their illustrious magnum opus, Winter’s Gate (2016), which was lauded as one of the best albums of the past decade by the revered Inferno Magazine.
