We are big fans of the Finnish sensation known as Nightwish here at the Metal Media Command HQ and I’ve just learned that a whole crop of South American and European dates were unveiled. The band has been in the press lately with news about their upcoming video release “Decades Live In Buenos Aires” and with a video clip reveal in “Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean” (reports which you can examine by clicking the highlighted text). Once you’re done you can take a look at those dates.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Perkele. This is some sad news for sure since the lineup of a few years in Children Of Bodom have been bringing their excellent brand of Melodic Death Metal to the masses for awhile. I will miss what they were all about but remain on the hopeful side for what is to come. Speaking frankly, I am thinking that COB ceases to exist as a thing and when the time is right to announce something, it will be something completely new under Laiho’s creative guidance. Considering how good so much of their output was I will close this up by saying “Onnea” to the guyds and wait for additional announcements. Thank you COB, goodnight.
The Press Release:
It’s Sunday, September 30th 2018. In a couple of hours’ time, symphonic metal trailblazers NIGHTWISH will unleash their unique “Decades” show on the huge stage of the Estadio Malvinas in Buenos Aires. And once again, they will be setting aflame the hearts of thousands of dedicated fans. Released back in 2018, Decades was so much more than a run-of-the-mill best-of. This comprehensive chronology of the band’s first two decades not only marked the band’s 20th anniversary; it was also the end of yet another era in the stellar career of Finland’s internationally most successful group. The consequent tour, too, was so much more than a regular anniversary run; from March 9th to December 15th 2018, the seventh NIGHTWISH world tour enthralled 82 cities across Europe, North America and South America – armed with a once-in-a-lifetime setlist.
Enter the stage Decades: Live In Buenos Aires! The divine new live release from Finland’s finest was captured by 19 cameras on that extraordinary night in Argentina. NIGHTWISH came out to the rousing “End Of All Hope” and took their bow to the unmatched epic “Ghost Love Score”. In between saw a set filled with pure trailblazing Finnish glory – incorporating distinguished tracks “Wish I had an Angel”, “Sacrament of Wilderness”, “Elvenpath”, “Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean”, “Dead Boy’s Poem” and many more… The evening saw countless goose bumps and unforgettable scenes – the definition of an unforgettable night, now documented for all eternity. Though I’ve enjoyed shining the spotlight on the touring side of the musical fence, I should admit that I never anticipated doing them here on the website and felt it would only be an occasional thing that would be done when I had the “PiercingMetal Musings” blog. This side notion just hit me as I’ve now surpassed more than 1K of these kinds of posts and now its time to alert the masses about a super cool combination as The 69 Eyes will return to our shores with direct support from Mr. Scary himself, Wednesday 13. Take a look down below at the full press release and dates.
The Press Release:
Helsinki Vampires, THE 69 EYES are proud to announce their Hell Has No Mercy 2020 U.S.Tour. Kicking off on January 15th at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, the 24 date trek will make stops in Chicago, West Hollywood and Richmond before concluding at Reverb in Reading, PA on February 22nd. Direct support will be none other than label-mates The Duke of Spook and his devilish ghouls known collectively as WEDNESDAY 13. Joining them on the tour are THE NOCTURNAL AFFAIR and THE CROWNED
It’s been far too long since I’ve gotten to see The 69 Eyes in concert, so this latest news from the bands label of record was a very welcome thing. Check it out.
The Press Release:
The last time that goth rock legends THE 69 EYES toured the United States, was in 2009. As the band has been busy conducting business as usual, releasing albums and touring elsewhere, the US has been waiting a very long for the return of the Helsinki Vampires. After recently teaming up with DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara’s and his wife Anahstasia’s The Oracle Management, THE 69 EYES are ready to start a new chapter in their 30-year rock’n’roll saga.
”Before releasing the new album, we’re closing a chapter in our history, by returning to the homeland of ELVIS and THE RAMONES,” stated THE 69 EYES singer Jyrki 69. “We cannot wait to play in Memphis and New York and another 20 cities! It’s been way too long. Feels like we’re really back from the grave!” Continue reading The 69 Eyes Announce First US Tour In A Decade→
