The Premise: Stranger Things is set in the fictional rural town of Hawkins, Indiana, during the early 1980s. The nearby Hawkins National Laboratory ostensibly performs scientific research for the United States Department of Energy, but secretly does experiments into the paranormal and supernatural, including those that involve human test subjects. Inadvertently, they have created a portal to an alternate dimension called “the Upside Down”. The influence of the Upside Down starts to affect the unknowing residents of Hawkins in calamitous ways. The first season begins in November 1983, when Will Byers is abducted by a creature from the Upside Down. His mother, Joyce, and the town’s police chief, Jim Hopper, search for Will. At the same time, a young psychokinetic girl called Eleven escapes from the laboratory and assists Will’s friends, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas, in their own efforts to find Will. The second season is set a year later, starting in October 1984. Will has been rescued, but few know of the details of the events. When it is discovered that Will is still being influenced by entities from the Upside Down, his friends and family learn there is a larger threat to their universe from the Upside Down. The third season is set a few months later, in mid-1985, in the midst of the popularity of the film Back to the Future. Mike and Eleven have developed a relationship, as have Max and Lucas.

The show “Stranger Things” is a rock-solid hit among fans of all things Geek and now with two seasons under its belt, the Netflix Original series has conventions, comic books, and novelizations of its very interesting mythology. No one was surprised when a third season was announced and now its time to enjoy the official trailer for this season. Let’s take a look down below. I’ve also added the premise and casting.

Netflix Spotlights “Stranger Things” Season 2 “Homage” Posters

I guess it was about a month ago that I showcased some character posters for the second season of the Netflix Original Series “Stranger Things”. They were cool and showcased some new additions to the cast and here we are once again with a new batch of visuals. This time around, Netflix has given us posters that are done in honor of some classic Horror and Science Fiction movies of the past. I really liked these and think that you will as well. They follow the show premise and I’ll close up with some additional editorial thoughts.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Based on my having quite the barrage of shows and contests to monitor along with a tad bit of everything else I will not be seeing this film during the early weeks of its theatrical run. I do hope to see it before its made its way to home video so lets see what happens. The advance word is that the film is quite scary and that is good by me, one really expects a film with a sinister monster clown type figure to terrify and this one should for sure. What about you readers? Will you be catching the film during the opening weekend or right after? Let me know down in the comments section below and if you should see it, please no spoilers of any kind. I hate that stuff and there is no need for it. Until next we meet.
