“This is the end, Beautiful friend, This is the end, My only friend, The end. Of our elaborate plans, the end, Of everything that stands, the end, No safety or surprise, the end. I’ll never look into your eyes again…….” Hey friends, my apologies for seeming rather morose and foreboding but I tend to get that way after a lengthy batch of presentations like these New York Comic Con ones. That said we have indeed arrived at the final installment from this years convention with Part 3 of Day Four right before your very eyes. Since I’ve been telling people about these posts for the last few days I am sure that some are only joining us now and they should click HERE first to see all of the chapters that have come before this latest one. With our final installment I am just going to finish some visuals from the Artist Alley and Main Floor before I head home for some much needed rest. Let’s go.
Welcome back once more my friends, you have safely arrived at the third and final chapter of our coverage of the 2017 “WinterCon” which takes place over at the Resorts World Casino in Queens, NY. It’s a cool place and right next to the Aquaduct Racetrack and of course there is the actual casino floor if you care to try your luck (if of legal age to do so that is) but I digress. If you are new to the website and this kind of overview then you might have missed the two previous chapters. Those visitors can click HERE to see what they missed and catch up with the rest of us. I’m picking up where I left off the last time which was on the outside deck where all the cosplayers were milling about. It was cold for me and I had a jacket so I don’t know how those folks in spandex were dealing with it.
Now that both the annual NY Comic Con and brand new Anime NYC conventions have come and gone, you’re probably thinking that you are done with this kind of event for year but you would be wrong. Yes my friends, WinterCon was here and once again being held at the spacious Resorts World Casinos in Queens. I enjoyed myself last year at the event which I documented HERE for those interested and was happy to be returning to see what this year had in store for me. As I walked over the casino floor to the main event upstairs, I met a mixed bag of creative Cosplay with some DC Villains, a Doctor and some of the X-Men. Who says we all can’t get along. Let’s go.
Yesterday, New York City hosted the Big Apple Comic Con over at the Penn Plaza Pavilion and this fun-filled comic book convention is the brainchild of the one and only Mike Carbo. I spent a few hours at the Con shooting photos of both the vendors and the wonderfully creative cosplayers and here is a batch of my visuals. Enjoy. I’ll start off my presentation with a few pics of the great Neal Adams who had a large number of tables downstairs on the lower level. It’s always great to see Neal and the family.
