The Winners Of The 2016 Epiphone Revolver Music Awards Are….

Earlier this evening, Webster Hall in NYC was taken over by the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal elite for the Epiphone Revolver Music Awards which was a rebranded “Golden Gods Awards” show and was happening in our media metropolis for the very first time. I wasn’t able to attend the awards despite wanting to be there with fans and friends but you can’t be everywhere. In addition to the fan voted winners two other awards were given out and let’s start with those.

Lifetime Achievement:
Dave Mustaine

Revolver Innovator Award:

Now let’s get on to all of the winners from the fan voting that we shared weeks ago to spark you into action. If you didn’t vote and someone that you admire the music of most didn’t win the award, you only have yourself to blame. Check out the list.

Album of the Year, presented by eOne
Metallica, “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct”

Beating Deftones, “Gore”, Megadeth, “Dystopia”, Meshuggah, “The Violent Sleep of Reason” and Volbeat, “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie”.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I felt that Metallica would win this one when I posted the fan voting post several weeks ago. What I wasn’t expecting to hear were boos from some parts of the audience and a confirmation that I wasn’t hearing things from a friend that was situated right in the front. That both surprised and disappointed me considering how strong the new Metallica album actually is.

Song of the Year, presented by Century Media
Ghost, “Square Hammer”

Beating Amon Amarth, “Raise Your Horns”, Megadeth, “The Threat Is Real”, Metallica, “Hardwired” and
Testament, “Brotherhood of the Snake”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I wanted this one to win as well so congratulations to Ghost on bringing more acolytes into your dark church.

Take A Stand and Vote For Nominees In “Epiphone Revolver Music Awards” 2016

The other day I posted the news about the newly branded “Epiphone Revolver Music Awards” and you can review the notes about that if you missed them by clicking THIS LINK. I’m posting again because the nominees for the awards are now listed and the means to vote for the one you believe in the most is available to do so. Check it out below.

The Press Copy:
As previously announced, the Epiphone Revolver Music Awards will take place on December 13 at Webster Hall in New York City. The Epiphone Revolver Music Awards isn’t solely about the performances—though we do have Megadeth, Zakk Wylde, Lacuna Coil (and more surprises in store). It’s here we are (and will be) honored to recognize your favorite artists for their accomplishments that make this music and scene so vital and viable. The awards show features fan favorite categories such as Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Dimebag Darrell Best Guitarist, Best Vocalist, and many more. Below is a list of the full nominees. So, make your voice heard and VOTE HERE! You can vote as much and as often as you would like.

Album of the Year, presented by eOne
Deftones, Gore
Megadeth, Dystopia
Meshuggah, The Violent Sleep of Reason
Metallica, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct
Volbeat, Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie

PiercingMetal Pick: I’m basing my decision on the three stellar tracks that have been unveiled by the mighty Metallica and give them the “Album Of The Year” choice from me. You can argue with me all you like on this one but these three numbers are so damned strong that its hard to believe that anything less will come from the full album. Let’s go Metallica!!!!

Song of the Year, presented by Century Media
Amon Amarth, “Raise Your Horns”
Ghost, “Square Hammer”
Megadeth, “The Threat Is Real”
Metallica, “Hardwired”
Testament, “Brotherhood of the Snake”

PiercingMetal Pick: Now despite my choice of Metallica for the best album, I am going Ghost for the “Song Of The Year” because from the moment that I heard “Square Hammer” I could not stop singing and humming it during the following weeks after just hearing it. I am so excited for the bands first ever gig in Brooklyn in the coming weeks and hope they win big with this one.

Revolver/Epiphone Unveil The “Epiphone Revolver Music Awards” Coming 12/16

I hated to miss the announcement that was held yesterday evening at the popular Saint Vitus Bar where Revolver and Epiphone unveiled their newly branded “Revolver Music Awards” show. The announcement was coupled with a launch of Dave Mustaine/Megadeth’s beer called “A Tout La Monde” and according to the photos that I have seen online, Dave himself tended bar and doled out the new brew. Hopefully the folks that enjoyed the beverage tipped accordingly and most importantly drank responsibly. Okay so below is the full on press release about the awards show. Dig in.

The Press Release:
