The Press Release:
All good things must come to an end… and having a great build up helps! Dynamite Entertainment announces KISS: THE END, a rocking new series to celebrate the legendary eponymous band’s upcoming history-making farewell “End of the Road Tour.”
A young man finds himself possibly dead and wrangling with some of life’s most eternal questions. It’s a good thing he runs into Death, who sets him on a path to track down their own demon offspring. His prophetic guides in this quest are none other than the otherworldly KISS – The Starchild, The Demon, The Spaceman and The Catman. Their help will be needed, with plenty of peril along the way.
I don’t usually like to do two comic book posts in a single day but we’ve got a lot on the media plate this month with the American International Toy Fair coming up and the other things that are bookending this massive convention. Let’s get right on down to the brass tacks and examine the first issues and one-shots coming from the folks over at Dynamite Comics.
DEJAH THORIS #1: Dejah Thoris, obsessed with finding the legendary Gardens of Mars, recruits her own expedition team of scientists. But once outside the palace walls, things don’t go as planned, and the Princess learns the hard way just how dangerous Barsoom really is.
Writer: Amy Chu; Art: Pasquale Qualano
Since the variant covers for “Deja Thoris” looked so awesome I’ve included them here for you as well.
Hey gang, its nice to see you once again. I’m going to keep my intro short since there is plenty of work to post today but we are indeed at another chapter of the NY Comic Con 2017 coverage. Part 5 will be the last of the stuff from the Day One adventures and if you’ve missed any of the posts that preceded this one, just click on THIS LINK as it will open a battery of content for you. Let’s get a move on with these two lovely cosplayers.
Hello again and Happy Day to you all. I’m back here once more with yet another chapter from my coverage of the 2017 NY Comic Con. This is Part 3 of my posts and I’m still on the Day One stuff so if you’ve missed any of the posts that preceded this one, just click on THIS LINK as it will open a battery of content for you. With this chapter I’m finishing off The Block and making my way into the Main Expo floor. I’ll make sure to add this tag to every intro going forward so its easier to keep up with the fun but now let’s get right back into the mix of NYCC 2017. Let’s get to it and introduce the Marshfellows. Cute eh?
Hello there again my fine feathered comic book reading fans! I’m continuing the posts that discuss the new series launches from our favorite publishers of the illustrated page and while we’ve addressed the DC and Marvel stuff its now time to get to some of the awesome that is coming from the Dynamite Entertainment and Images Comics side of the fence. At first I was debating doing the both of these together but I felt in order to better quantify each side of the fence so we shall be doing the few titles from Dynamite Comics first and then in a few hours the post for Image Comics will go live. Let’s get on down to business.
SHADOW #1: For the better part of a century the Shadow’s sinister laughter brought the chill of fear to evil-doers – but in our modern times, the streets of Manhattan have gone largely silent. But he is not forgotten. Not by the people he’s saved. Mary Jerez, is one of those people. The Shadow saved her from a horrifying school shooting – Mary knows all too well what evil lurks in the hearts of men. So when a horribly burnt man – incredibly strong and fierce, despite his terrible injuries- arrives under her care as a resident at the hospital – she believes she knows who he is, too. Is this mysterious man actually the Shadow – and with Mary’s help, will evil-doers again know what it means to fear his terrible justice? Si Spurrier (X-Force, X-Men: Legacy, Judge Dredd) and Daniel HDR (Superman, Cyborg) bring the pulp icon into modern day in a tale full of deadly intrigue, gun-blazing action, and a study of the nature of evil!
