Now Streaming: “The Cloverfield Paradox” on Netflix (2/4/2018)

So the football game is over and congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles on their win over the New England Patriots. I didn’t watch more than five minutes of game play but instead was rocking out to some Spotify playlists and preparing trailer pieces and more to present to you this coming week. One commercial did remind me about the new Science Fiction film that was going to be available on Netflix post game, so here is the reminder to the world along with the premise and casting for “The Cloverfield Paradox”.

The Plot: In the near future, a group of international astronauts on a space station are working talo solve a massive energy crisis on Earth. The experimental technology aboard the station has an unexpected result, leaving the team isolated and fighting for their survival. (thank you Wiki).

The Cast:
Daniel Brühl
Elizabeth Debicki
Aksel Hennie
Gugu Mbatha-Raw
Chris O’Dowd
John Ortiz
David Oyelowo
Zhang Ziyi
Donal Logue

PiercingMetal Thoughts: You might be surprised at this disclosure but I never saw the original “Cloverfield” film (which was done as found footage) nor did I see “Cloverfield Lane” despite hearing that one was pretty good. With no real deep interest in the material at this time I will probably take a pass on this but if you loved both of the films please have at it. I am understanding there is to be a fourth film so maybe by the time that comes out I will be up to date. What do you readers think? Should I invest the time? Are you interested in this one if you are using Netflix or using a good friends code to see it? Chime in down below.

Tonight: “Gotham” on Fox (9/21/2017)

Fans of the pre-history Batman series “Gotham” will be excited to find the series returning for its fourth season beginning tonight. This season will start its arc of tales with a premise called “Dawn Of Night”. As you can see in the poster, Master Bruce is now exploring his vigilante justice side a little deeper. I’m game. Here is one of the posters and some casting reminders.

Cast/Characters:
Ben McKenzie as James Gordon
Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock
David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne
Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth
Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin
Erin Richards as Barbara Kean
Camren Bicondova as Selina “Cat” Kyle
Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/Riddler
John Doman as Carmine Falcone
Morena Baccarin as Leslie “Lee” Thompkins
Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan
Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox
Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean/Cyrus Gold
Maggie Geha as Ivy “Pamela” Pepper

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ll keep this brief. I have been on and off with this show for a couple of seasons but really enjoyed the goings on with the third season. I am still not crazy about the introduction of so many villains in the Batman mythology because as lifers to the caped crusader can attest, a lot of characters became who they were BECAUSE of Batman’s existence. Not before he came to don the cowl and cape. Anyway, I will be programming this season as well and will likely catch up on the premiere the following morning. It’s been a little busy over here but what about you? Are you still watching or have just started or even given up on it entirely? Let me know down in the comments section below.

Fox: “Gotham” SDCC Season 3 Highlights/Season 4 Sneak Peek

Chugging along with the trailers that were showcased during the SDCC I’m up to the show “Gotham”. I didn’t rush with this one since like many of the others its a previous season recap with only a brief look at what’s to come. Are you watching “Gotham”? I’ve been doing so since the beginning but have to admit that sometimes it drains me. Anyway more on that later, check out the S3 recap and what’s to come in September.

Observe The “Gotham: Dawn Of Night” Character Posters For Season Four

I know that some of you readers have stuck by the Fox television series “Gotham” which showcases a world before Batman and while its occasionally made me shake my head, I’ve still got it programmed on my DVR and am just too lazy to cancel it just yet. Season 3 had some strong moments and showed that this could be interesting and better going forward. Some days ago, a nice batch of character posters were released along with the official reveal that the first story arc will be “Dawn Of Night”. I like that little play on words since we did find the “Batman V Superman” film being known as “Dawn Of Justice”. I’ll follow the main show visual with the character posters. Check it out.

Tonight: “Gotham” Season 3 Premiere on Fox (9/19/2016)

Fans of the pre-Batman history of Gotham City and all its ne’er do wells will be excited to know that the third season of “Gotham” will premiere this evening on the Fox channel. Check out the poster below and some brief insight.

The premise of the new season is called “Mad City” and I will have to assume that this comes from how the second season ended. I’ll leave that exact detail out of this post in the event that some of you are still trying to catch up on Netflix or something else.

The Cast:
Ben McKenzie as James Gordon
Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock
David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne
Zabryna Guevara as Sarah Essen
Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth
Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin
Erin Richards as Barbara Kean
Camren Bicondova as Selina “Cat” Kyle
Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma
Victoria Cartagena as Renee Montoya
Andrew Stewart-Jones as Crispus Allen
Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney
Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins
Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan
Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox
Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean
Michael Chiklis as Nathaniel Barnes
Maggie Geha as Ivy “Pamela” Pepper
Benedict Samuel as Dr. Jervis Tetch

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So I should start by saying how I ended up setting the whole season on DVR since I was hitting a lot of shows on the same nights that it was airing. Better to catch up a day or so later than missing it right? Anyway, I must admit that this season took me a lot longer to get through than I might have wanted it to and that is very simply because I was losing interest in it week after week. I am not against a Batman pre-history at all but when they keep introducing character after character that I know Batman never had as enemies until he was in the cape and cowl just annoys me. I guess I am a stickler for some traditions. So I am going to be programming this one again and will perhaps watch after a few weeks have gone by to see if I am going to keep letting it record. What about you readers? Are you watching the show and still enjoying it? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
