So the Big Game is still on and at the time of this posting the San Francisco 49ers are in the lead. Speaking of in the lead, it would seem that the Disney+ streaming service is also in this position based on their having successfully delivered “The Mandalorian” its time to kick things up a notch. During the footballbreaks we got our first glimpse of the three upcoming Marvel Studios television shows “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”, “WandaVision” and “Loki”. Take a look. I’ve also included the published premise and casting for these shows.
It was just before Halloween when we shared the Official Trailer #2 for the brand-new Star Wars series “The Mandalorian” and this series is now live on the newly launched Disney+ streaming service. Below you can find the official poster and some other coolness, and I’ll return at the close with some editorial opinion.
With the new Disney+ streaming service going online in just under two weeks, we are starting to hear more and more about deals for the early to it and before I get into the subject at hand, please take a look at this announcement that I posted over on “The Chronicles” from Verizon (click HERE). One of the biggest highlights is coming on the service care of “The Mandalorian” series and now we have a second trailer to enjoy. Check it out.
The Premise: Star Wars: The Mandalorian takes place a few years “after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order” and follows “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic”. When Disney and Marvel Studios held their Hall H panel at the most recent Comic Con International: San Diego, we got a crop of Marvel films and television series and I not only shared the rundown but offered some Geek expertise on the batch which you can find HERE in case you didn’t see that. Now, as the morning coffee begins to do its trick, I am returning to a similar topic while the D23 Fan Expo takes place in Anaheim, CA as they announce some new shows that will exclusively air on the upcoming Disney+ service.
Ms. Marvel: Though I am not the most dedicated reader of the “Ms. Marvel” monthly title from Marvel Comics, I do think the character is a good idea. For those who don’t know much about her, this Ms. Marvel is one Kamala Khan and is the first Muslim character with her own comic title under the publisher. She is more of an Inhuman than a mutant or one that deals with the Power Cosmic but since she is younger, it opens up a world of creative storylines ala “The Runaways”. This could be an interesting series. Continue reading Exclusive Disney+ Marvel Studios Series Reveals @ D23 Fan Expo 2019→
The D23 Expo is currently underway and its an event that I wish I was participating in based on all of the reveals from the studio since we always try to stay on top of trailers and new insight about the films and series that we focus on here at PiercingMetal.com – Should anything like that come to light I will make sure to post it here as we continue to push our Pop Culture content higher and higher. One thing that did get shared yesterday was the first Official Trailer for the service and while it’s not really the kind of thing I would normally post, the buzz around this has been too big to avoid so sit back and enjoy the few minutes. I will come back afterwards.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: At the point of this writing I am a subscriber to both Netflix and Hulu. I currently carry an HBO, Showtime and some other channel I never watch in my cable plan and with that being said I have one simple disclosure. It’s without question that I will be signing up for this service because it will have so many of the things that I am already supporting on other networks and in the cinema on a regular basis. I’m both a Star Wars and Marvel Super-heroes geek and who doesn’t love the classic Disney films and series from time to time. Now as far as my streaming devices are concerned, I am still using a PS3 and I don’t think that they will be adding the app to that old a system so I will be using the laptop, mobile phone and Fire tablet if that device happens to get the app as well. Some of my tech is older and works too well to replace just to have app access. What about you readers? Are you going to get this service when it goes online or are you going to wait or the initial reviews about it? Chime in down below in the comments section. I will see you next time.
