Don’t miss your chance to collect all 20 variant covers, coming to comic shops this August!

PiercingMetal Thoughts: If you’ve seen these types of posts you already know that I don’t collect the myriad of variant covers unless its something that I really love and on the cover of a first issue that I am interested in anyway. Don’t let my practices sway you because I still think its rather cool. I’m pretty excited about the return of the First Family to the monthly comics and who knows, if the Disney acquisition of 20th Century Fox goes through, perhaps we shall find them involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at long last. Wouldn’t that be great. Now before I forget to remind you, please be aware that that in July the Fantastic Four will be part of twelve reprinted issues that are only one-dollar each. You don’t want to miss these at all and should contact your comic shop about the issues that were discussed HERE. What do you readers think about this variant cover grouping? Is it something you will be hunting for? Chime in down in the comments. Until we meet again.

Marvel Comics First Issues Coming June 2018

Is it just me or did the month of May go really, really fast? I guess it was just me and it was likely based on my having to knock out a few conventions straight in a row along with one of the closing Slayer tours. I am actually finishing up with Book Expo today and that Slayer show is on Monday. Coverage of the whole gamut will be online ASAP. Time surely flies when you’re having fun. So back to the agenda at hand which is the Marvel Comics first issues and special editions that are hitting the racks this month. There’s a lot of them to enjoy so you might want to work a few extra hours during the week. As usual the press copy from the House Of Ideas is below along with the images. I will close out with my own thoughts as expected.

WAKANDA FOREVER: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1: PART ONE OF A THREE-PART STORY THAT SEES THE DORA MILAJE TEAM UP WITH THE MARVEL U! The blockbuster Black Panther film has everyone talking about Wakanda’s best warriors, the fierce Dora Milaje! Now witness the Dora outside of Wakanda – and in Spider-Man’s world! When the Dora catch wind of a Wakandan threat causing trouble in New York, they’ll leap into action – with or without their king. Don’t miss Okoye, Ayo and Aneka on a globe-trotting mission to protect the realm at any cost. WAKANDA FOREVER starts here! One-shot.

THOR #1: JASON AARON & MIKE DEL MUNDO TAKE THE PRINCE OF ASGARD IN A WHOLE NEW DIRECTION! Thor Odinson has regained his mantle – and with it, a wild new world of trouble on his mighty hands! The artifacts of Asgard have been scattered across the earth, and to reclaim them, Thor will have to face some ugly truths. Like the production cost of hundreds of new hammers! And the Thunder God is going to need every last one of them if he’s going to stop the unstoppable Juggernaut. Jason Aaron takes the Prince of Asgard in a whole new direction with YOUNG GUN artist Mike Del Mundo joining him at the helm! And don’t miss the latest chapter of the King Thor saga with acclaimed BLACK BOLT artist Christian Ward, as the Thor of the far future encounters an old friend who’s undergone some startling changes.

THOR #2: REUNION FROM HEL! The sons of Odin ride again! In the land of the dead, Thor is reunited with his long-lost brother, Balder, the King of Hel, just in time to face the Fire Goblin armies of the Queen of Cinders, as the War of the Realms continues to burn its way across all creation. Opening: “Deadpool 2” in Theaters Everywhere (5/18/2018)

Hello my friends, it is once again time to make the chimichangas as the Merc with a Mouth, Wade Wilson who we all know and love as Deadpool, has returned for the sequel to his first film with “Deadpool 2”. Check out the awesome theatrical poster and a completely ridiculous and untrue premise for the film along with the casting.

Per The YouTube Video Page: After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Marvel Comics First Issues Coming May 2018

Happy May my comic book loving readers, we are here and ready to share the months first issues and special anniversary editions that will be heading our way thanks to the fine folks at Marvel Comics. Of course, the biggest news of this morning will be the blockbuster box office take from this past weekend where we found “Avengers: Infinity War” pulling in more than $630 million dollars in the global box office tally. This film only opened up on Friday my friends, so one has to assume that it is going to be riding high for the next few weeks. I’m planning on seeing it this morning at one of the early matinees but don’t worry – I will not be spoiling it for anyone. There are a LOT of comics to showcase here so I’d better get on down to business. Here we go.

20th Century Fox Presents: “Deadpool 2” The Final Trailer

The big screen is going to blow up big time thanks to the the upcoming “Deadpool 2” film which brings the misadventures of the Merc with a Mouth to life once more and since this film is around the corner in terms of opening, a Final Trailer has been released. Check it out below.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As previously noted in our earlier trailer posts, the film is NOT about what it says above. This trailer seems to give away too much and I don’t know why they choose to do this. Maybe some films need it done, like “Fantastic Four” (which was terrible) and “Justice League” (which was “meh”) and “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” (which was a massive disappointment) but based on the box office numbers of the first film, its safe to say that “Deadpool 2” will not need any help. I like what I saw here and think Cable is going to be a solid character to have in the X-Men universe of films along with the other members of X-Force. You know that they will get a film of their own eventually too. That’s all I am going to say here because I am getting ready to attend a couple of Metal shows and then one of the days of the NYC Hot Sauce Expo and in addition to that, the “Avengers: Infinity War” film is opening up next week and I am STOKED for that one. What did you think of the trailer? Chime in down below as usual.
