Wow I cannot believe that we are hitting the fourth season of “Arrow” which is as you know the continuing adventures of the emerald archer Oliver Queen who most of us know as The Green Arrow. Of course in the show he is not called anything more than The Vigilante and The Arrow but check out the new season poster, the past happenings and cast thanks to the shows Wiki entry and then we can discuss this a little more.
The Premise and What You’ve Missed:
The series follows Oliver Queen, billionaire playboy of Starling City, who spends five years shipwrecked on a mysterious island. Upon his return to Starling City, he is reunited with his mother, Moira Queen, his sister, Thea Queen, and his friend, Tommy Merlyn. The first season focuses on Oliver rekindling his relationships and spending his nights hunting down and sometimes killing wealthy criminals as a hooded vigilante. He uncovers a conspiracy to destroy “The Glades”, a poorer section of the city that has become overridden with crime. John Diggle and Felicity Smoak assist Oliver in his crusade. Oliver also reconnects with ex-girlfriend, Laurel Lance, who is still angry over his role in her sister’s presumed death. The first season also features flashbacks to Oliver’s time on the island, and how it changed him; this continues in subsequent seasons. In season two, Oliver has vowed to stop crime without killing criminals, and comes under attack from Slade Wilson, a man from Oliver’s time on the island who resurfaces with a vendetta against him. Oliver must also contend with outside forces attempting to take over Queen Consolidated, guilt from decisions he made in the past, and secrets harbored by his family and friends.

I didn’t know what to expect as I was not a devout reader of the title even though some friends in the illustrious DC Comics company had given me several issues and some trade paperback editions of it and at the end of the day I found the show to be quite a bit of fun. The second season starts tonight and airs after “The Flash” so check out the poster, the premise and the cast and then we can talk about it a little more.
Seattle medical resident Olivia “Liv” Moore is turned into a zombie while attending a boat party. To cope with her new appetite for brains, Liv takes a job at the King County morgue and shares her secret with her boss, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti. In order for Liv to survive, Ravi encourages her to eat the brains of murder victims who are delivered to the morgue. Whenever she eats a victim’s brain, Liv inherits some of their personality traits temporarily. She also experiences flashbacks which often give her clues as to the nature of the murder. Liv uses this new ability to help the Seattle Police Department solve crimes, passing herself off as a psychic consultant.
