DC Collectibles Returns To New York Comic Con 2019

We are pretty close to 24 hours away from the annual New York Comic Con which will be taking over the Javits Center and most likely every single place were the Geeks and Pop Culture enthusiasts gather to discuss such things. It’s been a relatively vibrant topic here on PiercingMetal.com and if you haven’t seen the whole gamut of posts just click HERE to see the rundown. Now let’s share some just received information about what you should expect from the folks at DC Collectibles.

The Press Release:
DC Collectibles, known for its iconic lines of collectibles, statues and action figures, directly from the source, is returning to New York Comic Con (Oct. 3-6) and will reveal an extensive slate of new statues and action figures. Big reveals include the reveal of #102 in the popular Batman: Black & White series, new character additions to the fan-favorite Batman: The Adventures Continue action figure line, and additions to expand its best-selling action figure and statue lines including DC Bombshells, DC Essentials, DC Designer Series, and more.

DC Collectibles just recently hit a major milestone with its Batman: Black & White series by announcing its 100th statue designed by Todd McFarlane and #101 by Frank Miller. With the line gaining even more notoriety the DC Collectibles team knew they had to keep going above and beyond for the line’s fans announcing the 102nd statue in the series would be designed by non-other than the legendary Jim Lee. The all new 7” Batman statue is based on a panel in Batman: Hush, marks Lee’s fifth statue in the line.

DC Collectibles Reveals #101 Batman Black and White Statue – by Frank Miller

DC Collectibles has revealed the latest statue in the popular Batman Black & White series – Armored Batman by Frank Miller. #101 in the series is based on the iconic designs from Frank Miller’s 1986 series, The Dark Knight Returns. This armored Batman perfectly encapsulates the worn-out, dystopian vibe from the comics while showing the technological power Batman possesses in the story. While the figure is not due to hit shelves till summer 2020 it will for sure be one you won’t want to miss!

DC Collectibles Reveals: “Mikey as Batman”; An SDCC Previews Exclusive

I really thought I had seen it all when Hasbro unveiled their “Ectotron”, a mashup of their classic Transformers license and “The Ghostbusters” most famous conveyance – The Ecto-1. If you don’t know what I am talking about just click HERE to see what I mean. Now, the fine folks at DC Collectibles (a big favorite of ours in terms of their action figures) has revealed the “Mikey as Batman” which is Michelangelo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Batman. DC Collectibles Says “Bring Home The Justice League For Batman Day” 2018

We received this bit of news just before “Batman Day” which is tomorrow if you haven’t already heard the news. Check this out, and bring the Justice League home with you.

New DC Collectibles 6-inch Action Figure Line Will Be Available Exclusively on DC Universe Subscription Service. Straight from the screen to your shelves, DC Collectibles is gearing up to release an all-new 6-inch action figure line based on the acclaimed Justice League animated series that aired from 2001-2004. The new figures will be available exclusively for DC Universe members and can be purchased starting Batman Day, September 15, timed to the launch of the DC Universe subscription service.

The new line is an expansion of DC Collectibles’ bestselling animated action figure collection which also includes figures based on popular DC animated shows “Batman: The Animated Series”, “The New Batman Adventures” and “Superman: The Animated Series”. On September 15, DC Universe members can watch the entire Justice League animated series and then head over to the “Shop” tab on the DC Universe app to purchase Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman and more of their favorite characters from the show in 3D form. DC Collectibles Unveil “DC Artist Alley” Exclusive Figures For SDCC

With San Diego Comic-Con 2018 right around the corner, DC Collectibles is ready to dazzle the show floor with three Comic-Con exclusive Batman designer vinyl figures from their cutting-edge DC Artists Alley line. Illustrator Chris Uminga’s unique take on DC’s iconic Dark Knight is transformed into three variant editions: Blue and Gray, Flashpoint, and Matte Black and Gold. Each figure will be available for purchase exclusively during San Diego Comic-Con at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343).

The artist-focused 6.75’’ designer vinyl line is inspired by the popular “Artist Alley” convention experience and allows innovative artists to put their eccentric spin on DC’s most popular characters. The Comic-Con 2018 exclusive figures are sculpted by Joe Menna and painted by Michael Cowart. Each edition includes three Batman character art cards and is offered at varying limited quantities ranging in price from $60-$100. The ultra-limited Matte Black and Gold variant features an additional original sketch of either Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or The Joker, hand drawn by Uminga.

The convention exclusives will first be sold during San Diego Comic-Con 2018 at the Entertainment Earth Booth (#2343). If supplies remain after the show, pre-orders will be filled and shipped this August. Starting today, fans can pre-order their figures here.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I first saw these editions at Five Points Festival a couple of years ago and while they are not my thing at the end of the day, they are super cool if you are a collector of stylized figures and statues. I hope that any fans of these limited editions that is heading to SDCC next month are able to get their hands on the ones that they want. Until we meet again.
