Hello again my fiends, and welcome back to the narratives that are focusing on the just recently held Big Apple Comic Con. The event once again took place at the Penn Plaza Pavilion (oops, I mean the Jordan Pearl Pavilion as its now called) and we attended the Sunday part of the event. If you missed the first installment that is okay as you can just click HERE and be up to speed before we continue along.
Now since I ended the previous chapter with some residents of the Spider-Verse, how about beginning this installment with some more of them?
Considering how many of these conventions that we’ve been attending for the sake of the Geek Media, it’s pretty safe to assume that we love the creativity and colorful displays to be found at events such as New York Comic Con, WinterCon and now the Big Apple Comic Con which was happening here in NYC just this past weekend.
Though we would have preferred to attend on the Saturday portion of the weekend, the only provisions that were offered were for Sunday so that would be the day of the exploration. PiercingMetal hasn’t been to BACC in a couple of years and it was based on my scheduling of other things at the same time but now its time to get back into the NY Groove with the coolness and the cosplay. Let’s go.
I’m just going to jump into the fray since my MTA journey to the city was an arduous one. Sunday train travel has been a beast of late and its become a reason I tend to avoid the day in Manhattan if at all possible. Oh yeah, this is Josh Adams, son of Neal. We’ll get to him later.
You probably know him most for being Mr. Peterman on the hit comedy “Seinfeld” but that’s John O’Hurley and he graciously obliged me with an image to use in our visual overview.
He’s done a whole bunch of roles over the years but I know of him as Jonah Hex from the “Legends Of Tomorrow” series on the CW. It’s Jonathan Schaech.
Hey look, it’s Eric Kilmonger from the “Black Panther” movie hitting the BACC. Nice cosplay sir but who might those lovely ladies be?
They are The Hashtag Queens. They were repping their sound (since its a musical endeavor of some kind) and also handing out this cool little comic book.
They are the Rogue Alliance. Bringing Jedi Justice every day.
I’m finding down this chapter with some lovely ladies of the Spiderverse. The first lass appears to be a Black Cat/Spider-Man mashup while the other is a Mary Jane Watson/Spider-Man mashup. Well done ladies.
I’ll stop here to give us a breather and also because there are some other things to call your attention to. As these kind of convention reports are not really new to our readers, there is still the chance that some newbies are flowing in and we want them to know that were are being very active on our social networks of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I hope that you will show your support of our efforts by following and liking the various posts that you will find on the links. Remember to also click on the website links below that lead you to more about the people that we chatted with in this chapter. See you soon.
Alright my friends, this is it. You have safely arrived at the absolute final chapter of the NY Comic Con explorations as we close out Day Four with its third and final chapter. As I’ve noted before, if you haven’t seen the preceding chapters please click on THIS LINK to open everything related to this event on a new page. You won’t regret doing so because we’ve showcased some truly amazing people along the way. Here we go.
Once again I say “WELCOME GEEKS” and I say this with a smile and not an insult because I am one of you. As you know, I am finishing up the coverage of the 2017 NY Comic Con and we are on Day Four’s second installment. There isn’t much else I can add to that so let’s just make sure that you have seen the posts that came before (and if you didn’t please click on THIS LINK to open everything related to this event on a new page). I’m going to start off this chapter with a visual of the James Gunn Pop figure. I am a very casual collector of these and generally buy only the musician ones that I love (despite missing out on the KISS ones believe it or not). Apparently this was an exclusive to the convention figure and was going for a pretty penny almost immediately. Kudos to anyone who had gotten one and then turned a nice profit.
Well my friends, we are here. This is the beginning of “The End” if I can cop the title from the final Black Sabbath tour, but we are. This is the final group of posts about our adventures during the 2017 NY Comic Con. This is Day Four of the event and for those who have never attended before, the Sunday session is known as “Family Day”. Attending parents are able to get a super cheap pass for a child between a certain age. It’s a great idea if the children are between five and ten but not if they are infants IMHO since this just adds more bodies to the already crushing sense of humanity. As far as the posts, it’s been a lot of work to prepare it for you in this fashion but at the end of the day its been so much more easier to digest the grand scope of this massive undertaking. If you missed anything before this please click on THIS LINK to open everything related to this event on a new page. Now let’s get Geeky 🙂
