PiercingMetal Thoughts: That was brief and to the point wasn’t it? I don’t know if you readers have ever managed to catch ESTK but if you haven’t please do me a personal favor and add them to your list of groups that you should try to see. I’ve been able to see them on numerous tours over the recent years and have always found them to be both energetic and engaging and the kind of band that you could count on being able to say hello to after a gig at their merchandise table. Sure that is not important to a lot of people but its also super important to those who are keeping the Underground music scene vital and supported. Today we live in a world of selfies and quick candid images with people that we blast across our social networks and it’s a lot easier to do with a positive bunch of musicians like ESTK. I’m going to try and catch them when they come to Brooklyn and I’d be interested in seeing Convictions as well since they are very new to me. What do you readers think about this brief go round by the band? Chime in down below and do please also check out some of their recordings care of the Amazon.com links that are listed below.

Chris Jericho’s Fozzy To Rock Fans In 2018 With “Judas Rising” Tour

To say that December is already proving to be one that is loaded with information would be an understatement. Sure we are heading towards the closing of 2017, but bands are tossing out their 2018 plans out like crazy. This is a very good thing and if you’ve enjoyed the band Fozzy that is led by Chris Jericho then this will rock your senses too. Take a look at the press, the poster and the proposed dates. I’ll close out with additional editorial as well. Here we go.

The Press Release:
FOZZY, the active rock band led by Chris Jericho, will continue to rock their fans across America on their Judas Rising Tour with newly added tour dates in 2018. Set to launch February 28 in New Orleans, LA, the 25-date trek will take the band (Jericho: vocals, Rich Ward: guitars, vocals, Frank Fontsere: drums, Billy Grey: guitars and Paul DiLeo: bass) from east to west, including stops in Los Angeles on March 10 and New York City on April 5, before bringing them back across the country through the spring. Through Fire, Santa Cruz and Dark Star Choir will round out the bill for the night of rock headlined by FOZZY. Tickets for these newly announced dates (see below for list) go on sale to the public Friday, December 8.

“I’m stoked to do this extensive tour of the States now that ‘Judas,’ the song, is a Top 5 rock radio hit and Judas, the album, has gone top 40!” says Chris Jericho. “Fozzy is bigger than we’ve ever been, which means bigger production, bigger songs and bigger lighted jackets! So we can’t wait to rock your literal socks off starting in February!! JUDAS IS RISING!”

“I started playing guitar because of how deeply powerful the experience of going to concerts was for me,” Rich Ward adds. “With a hit single and a new album pushing Fozzy to new heights, I can’t wait to get back on the road in America to capture the power that only live music can create. Make sure to bring a helmet and your dancing shoes when Fozzy rolls through your town.”

The upcoming dates come on the heels of the October release of the band’s seventh album, JUDAS (Century Media), which Loudwire named as one of the top 25 albums of 2017, saying the band has continued “honing their craft and steadily improving. JUDAS is their most polished and fully realized album, and should be their most successful, as well.”

Win A Ticket To See Marduk @ Gramercy Theatre On 8/29/2017

The Details: Let sound the trumpets over the Inferno for Marduk is returning to NYC at long last! The bands last couple of forays were mired in “administrative” issues but now they are here. The bands brand of Black Metal is one of the most incendiary on the scene and if you’ve not seen them live yet you don’t know what you are missing. This tour finds them joined by the one and only Incantation and Abysmal Dawn who are two bands that you don’t want to miss if you are hitting the show. I haven’t seen them in a few years myself so I am very excited about the chance to do so and to also share the news that thanks to the fine folks in the Marketing division, we are going to put a couple of lucky fans into the show on the house. That lets you have more money for merchandise which is never a bad thing. Check out the details on how to participate.

When and Where: Tuesday, August 29th @ Gramercy Theatre (127 East 23rd St., NYC)

To Participate: I’ve decided to keep this an easy one and by saying that I mean I will be sticking to my usual formula of you readers giving me “3” things that you like most about the band if you have heard them already and if you are a newbie just give me “3” things that you are most interested in about their performance. Perhaps there are albums that “spoke” to you or concert appearances that sent you to the music shop to snag some of the band members earlier works. Just give me three solid answers and how important it is to be at this show. I know I make you work but I work here too so whining will not win out at all LOL. Make this good reading because the stuff remains on the website and can likely inspire new fans as well on how our freebies work. Writing “because they slay dude” is just too un-original and boring. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer. Kindly review some guidelines before entering your submission. We don’t have a lot of tickets for this one.
