Hey there readers, so before I close up with this day’s agenda items, I wanted to call your attention to a number of awesome posters that are out there to help amp up the excitement for the upcoming Marvel Studios feature “Doctor Strange”. I’ve talked about it a couple of times already and if you didn’t see the trailer that was revealed during the SDCC just click HERE to be up to speed. I’ll lead off with the Official Theatrical poster and the premise before lining up the rest of them. Enjoy.
The San Diego Comic Con is in full sway as you read this and when this convention happens I find myself busy tossing together posts about trailers for upcoming films or the skimpiest of teaser clips. Today is the final day of said convention and one of yesterdays reveals was the first full on trailer for “Doctor Strange” which opens in November of this year. This film will introduce the Master Of The Mystic Arts to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and you can check it out below.
While we might be slavering with anticipation about the opening of “Captain America: Civil War” in a couple of weeks, the mood is on a high level about the upcoming “Doctor Strange” film that comes out in November from Marvel Studios. Just a little bit ago, the teaser trailer was released for the Marvel Studios production and it will bring the Sorcerer Supreme into the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is nothing less of awesome. Check it out below.
From the Wiki entry: “Doctor Strange is an upcoming American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is intended to be the fourteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Scott Derrickson with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. In Doctor Strange, surgeon Stephen Strange learns from the Ancient One after a career-ending car accident.”
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ll just leave this as “AWESOME” since I’ve been hoping for Doctor Strange to be brought into the MCU for a while nomw. He has been one of my favorite characters for many years and I am fairly sure that Mr. Cumberbatch is going to do a bang up job in the role. November cannot arrive fast enough and I think that Marvel Studios has another winner on their hands. What do you readers think of this first look at the film? Let me know in the comments.
As we get to the close of this media year of 2015, I’m happy to share the recently released image of actor Benedict Cumberbatch as “Doctor Strange” who we are seeing in costume for the very first time thanks to the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine. Check it out.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to say that I like the look quite a bit as he has the necessary side gray hair and the amulet. Perhaps his collar could have been a little higher but I will not complain about it. I was also rather happy with the casting of Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange since he has “that look” of the character. I also have a lot of hopes for this film and that its able to pull off the special effects that bring to mind the classic Steve Ditko era stuff. There is a full feature in the issue as well but I only had the cover image to show you here in this posting. I need to snag a copy when I hit the shops as it also features looks inside “Batman V Superman” and (shudder) “Ghostbusters”. This magazine has been really good at showcasing some of these upcoming super-hero films when they are not talking about Kardashian this or Housewives that and have even given us some first glimpses at “X-Men: Apocalypse” and “Captain America: Civil War” over the last few months. What do you folks think of the visual here and if you have already read the article let me know in the comments if it was all to your liking. Until next time.
Hey there my friends and traveler’s to the fantasy world of Middle Earth, today is the day that the second chapter of “The Hobbit Trilogy” opens up in theaters everywhere. As with the first chapter “An Unexpected Journey” the film was produced and directed by Peter Jackson, the man behind the incredibly successful “Lord Of The Rings” trilogy. I loved those films and happily added them to my collection when they became available. Now you might remember that I had some reservations about the single book story being expanded into three films but oh well. Believe it or not I have not yet seen the first chapter and by the looks of it, I think I will be waiting for all three to be out so I can binge on them like I do with any number of series on Netflix. Are you excited about the story so far? How fast will you see it? I welcome all comments but please don’t put any spoilers in for those who hate that stuff.
