Marvel Studios: “Avengers: Endgame” & “Captain Marvel” Super Bowl LIII Spots

marvel studios logo

So another Super Bowl is on the books as completed and yes, the New England Patriots bested the Los Angeles Rams for Super Bowl LIII in a very low scoring (and super boring) game, winning 13-3. Truth be told I’m not a sports fan at all but I tuned in sporadically to see what trailers might manifest. Considering that we’ve already recently got updated trailers for “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, I was not expecting more than a tease of some kind with newer footage that we might not have seen somewhere else. Across the course of the game, we would get what were listed as “Big Game Spots” for both “Avengers: Endgame” and “Captain Marvel” and with the two clips barely surpassing a minute in length when played back to back, I’ve placed them both into a single post for your enjoyment. I’ve also added the premise for one and listed the cast in our tags as opposed to a rundown since there were too many people to type at this late hour.

The Premise: Nothing has been posted yet about what the premise for “Avengers: Endgame” actually is but its pretty safe to say that our heroes are going to be looking for ways to reverse “the snap” and give Thanos a taste of his own medicine.

It was just over a month ago that we shared the second trailer for the upcoming “Captain Marvel” film from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and if you missed our post and thoughts about it based on the holidays, just click HERE to see it. I had to admit that it was awesome and that is where I color myself surprised at the reveal of a “First Look” clip which surfaced only a few hours ago. Let’s take a look at this brief clip and then follow it with the premise, casting and another one of the exciting posters for the film.

The Premise: Set in the mid-1990s, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds. It was pretty exciting news to learn that the second trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studio film “Captain Marvel” was going to air this evening and well, outside of the need to determine when it would come to light during the football game……on that I say “Go Sports”, since I don’t follow any of that stuff at all. The Premise: In the year 2045, much of Earth’s population centers have become slum-like cities due to overpopulation, pollution, corruption, and climate change. To escape their desolation, people engage in the virtual reality world of the OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation), where they can engage in numerous activities for work, education, and entertainment.

Wade Watts is a teenager from Columbus, Ohio who frequents the OASIS and attempts to win “Anorak’s Quest”, a game created by the recently-deceased creator of the OASIS, James Halliday, in search of its Easter Egg. The winner is to be granted full ownership of the OASIS and Halliday’s $500 billion fortune. While Wade works with several friends from the OASIS to discover Anorak’s treasure, Innovative Online Industries (IOI), an evil corporation lead by CEO Nolan Sorrento, employs a number of Sixers to try to discover the treasure first and seize control of OASIS for themselves.
