At the time of our posting this, there are hundreds and hundreds of Metalheads making their way to a place called The Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia for the annual ProgPower USA Heavy Metal music festival which actually is starting later on today. While these fans are getting ready to rock, we caught wind of a promotional video for next years 3rd and 4th day and are sharing it with you below so you know what we are both missing out on at the moment and how excited we should be for next years happening. Watch the video to see clips of all the announced bands. It’s a bit long but I found it rather enjoyable so you should as well. Here we go.
The Lineup: Shattered Skies, Witherfall, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow, Night Flight Orchestra, Conception, Arion, Thank You Scientist, Jeff Scott Soto, Beast In Black, The Gathering, Ihsahn, Turilli/Lione: Rhapsody.
The Press Release:
Ready for another round of Wacken madness? Still grinning wildly thinking about our 30th anniversary edition? Well, we are looking forward to next year’s festival as much as all of you metalheads out there. Wacken Open Air 2020 is already shaping up nicely with the first batch of amazing bands confirmed – and a cool brand new look on top. Get ready to dive into Maya and Aztec culture in Wacken next year!
First things first – and music always comes first in Wacken. We are proud to announce the following bands for 2020:
One of the highlights of next year’s Wacken Open Air will definitely be… the mighty JUDAS PRIEST! True legends celebrating “50 Heavy Metal Years” at the Holy Ground – a match made in headbanging heaven! JUDAS PRIEST have shaped heavy metal as we know it and we are incredibly honoured to welcome them to the festival for the fourth time.
Vikings and Metal go well together as we all know. There is no band out there that brings the fire, the screaming, and the general kickass awesomeness of both worlds better together than AMON AMARTH. These Swedes keep getting stronger and have been part of the Wacken journey since 1999! Next year, they will bring out the „Beserker“ in all of us for an impressive ninth time at the Wacken Open Air. The Scoop: The organizers of the Sweden Rock have unveiled a crop of amazing bands that will be joining the 2019 Festival, and since you need to know this information I am sharing it with you right here on PiercingMetal.com – Just in case the poster isn’t clear on whatever screen you are reading us on, here are the bands so far: KISS, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Def Leppard, Amon Amarth, Demons and Wizards, Arch Enemy, Hammerfall, Original Krokus, Skid Row, At The Gates, Annihilator, Magnum, Joe Lynn Turner, Uli Jon Roth, Death Angel, Demon, Beast In Black and “65” more acts are yet to be announced. According to their Facebook Page, they lined out that this years event sold out in a week when it went on sale, so you are going to want to pay attention to that…..check out the poster so far……(queue dramatic music).
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Now before I say anything on this, I should explain that I’ve never been to ANY of the European Festivals and when I see posters and lineups like this one, it almost makes me cry. I’ve not managed to get across the pond as they say as its just not logistically possible for me to wrangle the necessary finances for it but I digress. What I love about Festivals like this one is how on point they always seem to be. With bands like KISS announcing their “End Of The Road” World Tour (discussed earlier today on THIS LINK), I’m planning on seeing them whenever I can and they are only the tip of the iceberg of bands that I am interested in who are performing at this festival. That’s all I have for now but you readers can tell me what you think about the matter down in the comments section below. Please lets all discuss.
