I’ve joked how Tuesday isn’t just for tacos anymore and now offers up a number of concert and festival announcements. If you don’t believe me just refer to the news that came from the Deftones and Wardruna who have revealed their touring plans. Now while we are fixated on the NYC territory and don’t get too much out of it, when an event like this “Cruel World Festival” gets announced you have to help share the news. Take a look at the poster and a clearer visual of the lineup.

BAUHAUS Featuring Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, Kevin Haskins and David J Announces Los Angeles Show on November 3, 2019. Tickets On-Sale Friday, September 13th
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Historically speaking, I never really followed the music of Bauhaus but I know many friends who found their music to be very influential. The English Gothic Rock band doing a special one night only appearance should be a spectacular event for all who are in attendance and its my hope that it leads to more dates that come over this way so I can check it out and do some show review. Readers might recall that the bands singer Peter Murphy was doing a residency at Le Poisson Rouge before suffering a heart attack. The residency was discussed HERE and the news about his promising recovery HERE and I imagine that we shall soon learn about his completing that run of shows that were postponed. Since I’ve not much actual background from experience on the group, I wonder what you diehards to their sound might think of this exclusive date. Personally I feel it will lead to an extended tour because The Misfits did an exclusive show and look what happened there. Numerous gigs in numerous cities. This is a great bit of news for their most dedicated fans and you can let me know what it means to you down in the comments section below. See you next time.
The Press Release:
Following the recent news that he had suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, PETER MURPHY has been given an excellent prognosis. Dr. Akshai Bhandary, Director of the Cardiac Care Unit at Lenox Hill Hospital, has issued the following statement:
“Mr. Peter Murphy was admitted to the Lenox Hill Hospital Cardiac Care Unit on August 13, 2019 after having suffered a heart attack. He underwent emergent angioplasty and received two stents to his right coronary artery. Since then, Mr. Murphy has done excellent and is expected to make a full recovery. We wish Peter and his family the absolute best.”
Relieved and optimistic that he will be back on his feet and in action, Peter himself has issued the following message:
“Following my recent episode in New York City with my heart attack and being admitted into Lenox Hill Hospital and seeing myself go through the rigors of intensive care, I am very happy to say that I have made a full recovery. Thanks to the superb team of doctors, specialists, nurses and care staff. I am so glad to say I am up and running again. My tour manager Brian Lowe and my assistant Chantal Thomas were directly instrumental in saving my life and to whom I cannot thank enough. I also want to thank every single friend and fan who has been supporting me throughout this ordeal. I remain grateful especially to my Bauhaus band mates”.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Peter suffered a heart attack during his twelve date residency at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge. Unable to take the stage for that evening’s show, he was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital where he was diagnosed and received life-saving angioplasty.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, Peter has asked to make a donation to The American Heart Association at https://tinyurl.com/peter-murphy-heart. Follow Peter Murphy online for further updates on show announcements.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I don’t have much to add to the mix here but just wanted to be sure to share the most recent update on Peter’s incident from his media side of the fence since I know a lot of our readers are longtime fans and many were even hitting some of the residency dates. As far as those shows that were supposed to take place are concerned, when they get rescheduled you can count on my listing them on our Events Calendar as I did with the shows that took place. I am glad to find Peter getting the excellent prognosis and I am sure that his most ardent fans will be enjoying him in concert sooner than later. Chime in below if you’d care to add some thoughts, it’s always nice to hear what the readers have to say. See you next time around.
The legendary Peter Murphy of Bauhaus will deliver a special NYC Residency at LPR where a specific solo album will be the focus. Details about these shows can be found HERE. Tonight’s focus will be a tribute to David Bowie.
