It’s been far too long since I’ve gotten to see The 69 Eyes in concert, so this latest news from the bands label of record was a very welcome thing. Check it out.
The Press Release:
The last time that goth rock legends THE 69 EYES toured the United States, was in 2009. As the band has been busy conducting business as usual, releasing albums and touring elsewhere, the US has been waiting a very long for the return of the Helsinki Vampires. After recently teaming up with DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara’s and his wife Anahstasia’s The Oracle Management, THE 69 EYES are ready to start a new chapter in their 30-year rock’n’roll saga.
”Before releasing the new album, we’re closing a chapter in our history, by returning to the homeland of ELVIS and THE RAMONES,” stated THE 69 EYES singer Jyrki 69. “We cannot wait to play in Memphis and New York and another 20 cities! It’s been way too long. Feels like we’re really back from the grave!” Continue reading The 69 Eyes Announce First US Tour In A Decade→
Artist: The 69 Eyes Title: “Christmas In New York City” (Single) Label: Nuclear Blast Records Release Date: 11/24/2017 Genre: Holiday/Hard Rock Rating: 4/5
Now that the Thanksgiving celebrating is out of the way, it’s time to start focusing on the Christmas holidays and what better way to do this than with a brand-new holiday single from the Helsinki Vampires in The 69 Eyes. Having been a fan of their Gothic Rock and Roll style for more than a decade now, I was glad to find this one hitting the streaming services and felt that it would be a fun way to lead us into the season. Though we haven’t had the band here in far too many years, the members of The 69 Eyes; Jyrki 69, Bazie, Timo-Timo, Jussi 69 and Archzie, all have a deep love of our teeming metropolis. Here’s a few thoughts on the Nuclear Blast Records released tune. Continue reading “Christmas In New York City” (Single) by The 69 Eyes→
Artist: The 69 Eyes Title: “Rosary Blue” (Single) Label: Nuclear Blast Records Release Date: 4/6/2013 Genre: Gothic Hard Rock Rating: 5/5
A couple of months ago I specked out the maxi-single for The 69 Eyes with “Love Runs Away”, and that release closed out with the bonus track from their album “X” in “Rosary Blue”. The song was not on every version of the CD and now fans of one of the main voices on the track can divest themselves of a minor fee and add this tune alone to their digital library. I’ll repeat my initial thoughts on the tune just in case you didn’t see my notes on the maxi-single. Continue reading “Rosary Blue” (Single) by The 69 Eyes→
Artist: The 69 Eyes Title: “Love Runs Away” (Single) Label: Nuclear Blast Records Release Date: 2/5/2013 Genre: Gothic Hard Rock Rating: 4/5
“X” was the most recent album by the Helsinki Vampires known as The 69 Eyes and if you didn’t give it a chance for some reason, you now have a reason to take a listen thanks to this new tasty digital single “Love Runs Away”. This release begins with the opening track from the “X” album (which is the bands 10th in case you were wondering) and I love this tune since it’s a solid, four on the floor rocker that calls back to an earlier time in the bands history while still looking into their future. Artist: The 69 Eyes Title: “Angels/Devils” Label: Caroline Records Release Date: 11/6/2007 Genre: Gothic Hard Rock Rating: 4/5
They might have missed the chance to fill your Halloween goodie bag with this one but just the same Caroline Records has issued a Special Edition 2CD/DVD set for those Helsinki Vampires The 69 Eyes; it’s a release that will make any Gothic Hard Rock fan blush until there is once again some color in their cheeks. Entitled “Angels/Devils”, the release features the entire “Angels” and “Devils” albums that the band had delivered to their fans over the last couple of years. “Angels” bears no difference to the original but “Devils” adds a couple of bonus tracks to enjoy. Given the similarity to the original albums we are re-printing many of our initial thoughts on the release. Continue reading “Angels/Devils” by The 69 Eyes→
