It wasn’t too long ago that we shared the first information about a soon to come third installment in “The Walking Dead” franchise. Back then the series had no official name and it seemed to be focused on the younger generation. With the Official Comic Book “The Walking Dead” endeding (discussed HERE), the time has come to reveal the shows title, and a teaser clip. Behold “The Walking Dead: World Beyond”.
Synopsis: The series, set ten years after the apocalypse, will feature two young female protagonists and focus on “the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.” Continue reading AMC Presents: “The Walking Dead: World Beyond” Teaser Trailer→
As you read this television premiere announcement, we are still entrenched deep within the Halls of Javits for the fourth and final day of the New York Comic Con. It’s been a massive event for sure with so many sights and colorful costumes to enjoy and as has been the case for many years now, every single badge features one or more of the characters from “The Walking Dead”. The end of the 9th season left most of us awestruck with what happened and just in case you are slow to catch up on things, I will not say anything more than it was a very dismal set of circumstances. Tonight the show premieres for its 10th season and the poster, Season 9 Recap and ensemble casting are listed below.
Season 9 Recap: Eighteen months after Negan’s downfall, Rick proposes building a bridge to ease trading, but this leads to more resentment. Rick is seemingly killed when he destroys the bridge to prevent an invasion of walkers. Six years later, his absence triggers discourse between the communities, and a new walker-controlling threat named the Whisperers demand the survivors do not trespass their territory. Their leader, Alpha, has acquired a large horde of walkers that she will unleash if they do so. After her daughter Lydia abandons her mother’s group for the Kingdom’s, Alpha disowns her and massacres many residents during a fair. Speaking of reveals, though we are all getting anxious for tomorrow’s premiere of “The Walking Dead” which will be premiering it’s 10th season tomorrow night on AMC; an as-yet untitled spinoff series was revealed today at New York Comic Con and I’ve embedded the trailer for you down below. Take a look.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: So I will be honest and say that I don’t know what to think about this trailer. It seems to have a younger cast who all seem far too “innocent” for the kind of world this has become and offhand hit me like “Dawson’s Creek” meets “The Walking Dead” proper series. For me this fell flat, but who knows. Let’s see what the title becomes and where in the timeline this is taking place. I did at first detest “Fear The Walking Dead” but ended up getting very into it once a whole bunch of characters I hated bit the dust. I might still be a season behind but that is the glory of a DVR. What did you readers think of this new series trailer? Did you like it, or did you hate it? Chime in down below and know that as more information is revealed about the show and when its hitting the network I will be on point with it for our Pop Culture focused area.
Back in July I shared the Season 4 trailer for the AMC Studios Original Series “Preacher” which of course is loosely based on the DC Comics Vertigo series of the same name. If you missed that posting just click HERE to see it. The series begins its final go round this evening on AMC so let’s examine the poster, some premise and casting.
The Premise: Jesse Custer is a hard-drinking, chain-smoking preacher who, enduring a crisis of faith, becomes infused with an extraordinary power. He embarks on a quest to better understand his new gift and literally finds God, alongside his trigger-happy ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and new vampire friend, Cassidy. “Preacher” is an adaptation of the intense comic book series that was done by Steve Dillon and Garth Ennis. It ran as a part of the DC Comics Vertigo imprint for “75” total issues. The show does NOT follow the general canon of the printed page. The Geekier side of the small screen is closing up on some of the shows that have been amusing us for some time with “Gotham” already gone and “I Zombie” following suit soon enough. “The Gifted” is gone already with “Legion” following afterwards and now its time to deliver the final season of the AMC Original Series “Preacher”. The trailer for this was showcased during the SDCC and I’m broadcasting it here since that is what we do with this kind of stuff. Take a look.
