Opening: “Tomb Raider” in Theaters Everywhere (3/16/2018)

In keeping with the announcements about the big screen debuts of comic and adventure films that are coming at us, here is the one saying that “Tomb Raider” is opening today in theaters across the country. I’ve shared a couple of the trailers and it does look rather good so as an incentive here is the theatrical poster, the premise and casting.

The Premise: Tomb Raider is an upcoming 2018 American action-adventure film directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons. It is primarily based on the 2013 video game of the same name by Crystal Dynamics, and will be a reboot of the Tomb Raider film series. The film tells about the first expedition of Lara Croft, in which she embarks on a perilous journey to her father’s last-known destination, hoping to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance. The Cast:
Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft
Emily Carey as 14-year old Lara
Maisy De Freitas as young Lara
Dominic West as Lord Richard Croft
Walton Goggins as Mathias Vogel
Daniel Wu as Lu Ren
Kristin Scott Thomas as Ana Miller
Nick Frost as Max
Hannah John-Kamen as Sophie
Antonio Aakeel as Nitin

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I’ve noted in the second trailer post, I just have too many things going on right now to see this film early in its theatrical run so I might need to take a pass on it. I’d like to see it but cannot promise when so its very unlikely a movie review will be loaded onto the website. What about you though? Are you checking this one out? Let me know down in the comments below but don’t leave any spoiler stuff since that is no bueno.

Warner Brothers Pictures: “Tomb Raider” Official Trailer 1

So many films seem to be getting reboots or revamps or even those “here’s what happened before you came aboard” sort of things so why not do this for Lara Croft, the Tomb Raider. The first full trailer for the film that will be released on Warner Brothers hit a few days ago and I am sharing it with you now as I begin to prepare myself for the annual NY Comic Con. Check it out.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As much as I wanted to see this one in the theaters on its opening, the constant shifts in when it was going to open have found it happening at a point where I just cannot afford the time to sit in a theater. This one is likely going to be an HBO one or Netflix for me but I still do wish to see it. What about you folks? Are you interested in this one? Let me know in the comments below. You can also learn more about the film overall on its Wiki entry but be aware that spoiler information will posted in there.
