This March, comic book history will be made as “Detective Comics” reaches its milestone 1000th issue. As you all know, this is the title that gave us “The Batman” way back in May of 1939 and before I get into the cover visuals, I wanted to share that classic issue with you all. Remember, Batman didn’t appear in the first issue of that comic but instead in its 27th.
About The Issue: After 80 years, it’s here—the 1,000th issue of DETECTIVE COMICS, the title that literally defines DC! This 96-page issue is stacked with an unbelievable lineup of talent that will take you on a journey through Batman’s past, present and future…plus a sensational epilogue that features the first-ever DC Universe appearance of the deadly Arkham Knight! But who is under the mask? And why do they want Batman dead? The incredible future of Batman adventures begins here!
With Marvel’s recent announcement about a host of brand-new title launches and their sharing not only the cover art but several preview pages, I’m going to help rally the charge by giving each of them a posting. Here’s the scoop on the just announced “Captain America” title. Marvel’s Sentinel Of Liberty is going to reach 700 issues for his currently running title soon enough and I am guessing we shall also see him in action on the big screen once more when “Avengers: Infinity War” opens this April.
The Press Release:
New creative teams. New series. New directions. New beginnings. It all kicks off this July with CAPT AIN AMERICA #1!
“I think it’s a really exciting time to be writing Captain America right now,” said Coates. “The country is in an interesting place, and I look forward to inhabiting Steve Rogers’ character – this guy who has been a sort of awkward fit for the world, out of time as people say. I hope fans are excited to see something different, and I think there are some really compelling villains old school Captain America fans and Marvel fans will be familiar with.” Continue reading Marvel Announces “Captain America” #1 (Coming July 2018)→
