Streaming Now: “Iron Fist” on Netflix (3/17/2017)

It seems like only yesterday when I was discussing the streaming of the first-ever Netflix Original Series that paired them with Marvel Studios and introduced fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to “Daredevil”, a superhero for the every day citizen who walked in the same universe as the superheroes on the big screen films. Now we are up to the fourth here to be introduced and the fifth series overall in “Iron Fist” which is 100% available to stream as you read this just gone live post. Check out the cool poster along with some premise and cast. I’ll return at the close.

The Premise: Danny Rand returns to New York City, after being presumed dead for 15 years, to reclaim his family company. However, when a threat emerges, Rand must choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

The Cast and Characters:
Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist
Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing
David Wenham as Harold Meachum
Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum
Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum
Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple
Wai Ching Ho as Gao
Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth
Michael Maize
Lewis Tan as Zhou Cheng
Esau Pritchett

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m not going to lie because I have loved each and every one of the Marvel Studios/Netflix original series though I will admit to being skeptical at first when thinking of how these would work as full series as opposed to standalone movies but wow they did it. “Daredevil” blew us away and found many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe binging the series in full over the course of a couple of days. Then it was “Jessica Jones” and onto a second season of “Daredevil” before we got knocked out by “Luke Cage”. I am excited for “Iron Fist” for a couple of reasons and the first is because it will surely deliver some quality Kung-Fu action and bring us more of a super=hero vibe that we only have gotten so far in “Daredevil”. I also enjoy the aspect of the mysticism of K’un Lun as that opens up other areas in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have Doctor Strange overseeing the realms of that kind so this would be a perfect addition to the live-action mythology. You readers do know that all of these heroes are going to be working together in the next show called “The Defenders”. So tell me whether or not you will be binging this one or taking your sweet time down in the comments section below. I think that I will be taking my time since I am still working through an 80% full DVR that must be attended to. Thanks for reading.
