So here I am once more in the playground of the costumed hearts, One more experience, one more entry in a diary, self-photographed – You’ll have to pardon my slight revision of the lyrical masterpiece that is “Script For A Jester’s Tear” by Marillion from back in 1983. We are here though and you’ve arrived at the Day Four offerings from the 2019 New York Comic Con. If you’ve missed any of these fun posts that ran before this one please click HERE to be on point. This last day is going to be a bit of a mixed-bag since I’ve taken care of almost all the things that I wanted to do over the last three days. Let’s go.
This is the Worlds Largest Ring Pop at the Topps Booth. It’s real but I don’t know if they were
I didn’t see these the other day and if you love Iron Maiden (which most readers of this site should be nodding in agreement about) and love collectibles (like the rest of us), then these items from Heavy Metal Magazine are right up your alley.
This charming Ariel was working with a nearby booth and was going over well with any of the little ones that were present. Did I mention that the final day of NYCC is “Kids Day”? If not, it is.
Why yes this “painting” of Harry Potter is made entirely of Jelly Belly jellybeans. Delicious. They were also handing out small sample packs which was helpful for the needed sugar rush.
It was nice to see DMC up on the Marvel stage doing a cooking segment. I love to cook and think everyone should give it a try.
Over at the Valiant Entertainment pavilion there was a signing going on with Kevin Van Hook and Bob Layton. They worked on “Bloodshot” together and are of course known for a lot of other amazing work in comics.
This piece of artwork truly made me sad but inspired at the same time as its a tasteful memorial to the late, great Stan Lee who we lost back in 2018 (our memorial toast can be found HERE)
Artist Frank Cho has a series called “Fight Girls” and these ladies were part of the promotional efforts at NYCC.
“Some day you just can’t get rid of a bomb!!!”
You’ve been waiting for him for a few posts now and here is the great Neal Adams.
Artist Brian Stelfreeze insisted on an “annoyed” face when I asked him to let me snap him. Mind you he was not at all annoyed and laughed that we did this.
Alright, one down and only a few more to go before the home stretch. Since I have another couple of collectibles focuses I will load another one in before getting back to the proper convention stuff. Keep yourself busy with the website links down below until we return. Don’t forget to follow PiercingMetal on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube so you don’t miss a second of the fun. See you next time.
