Next month, the fine folks at Rounder Records will be issuing a live CD/DVD and Blu-Ray release that brings the “Time Machine” tour that was delivered by the legendary Rush into your homes. The tour ran from last year until just a few months ago so I applaud the turnaround with such a release. Sadly, I didn’t manage to see this go round for the group and haven’t caught them since the “Snakes and Arrows” tour that they did in 2007 (which was documented HERE for those arriving late to the program). Now the label has an Official Trailer for the upcoming release and I am sharing it with you in our Videos section based on the way the site is laid out. Let’s go.

About The Release: Experience the Time Machine Tour! 26 Songs, including “Closer to the Heart,” “The Spirit of Radio,” and the seminal “Moving Pictures” album, performed live in its entirety for the first time ever. DVD & Blu-ray feature nearly 3 hours of video, including never-before-seen performances of “Need Some Love” (1974) and “Anthem” (1976), plus outtakes & a performance of “Tom Sawyer” from the “History of Rush” skits, featuring Geddy, Alex, and Neil as you have never seen them before.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So what do you readers think about this one? Do you like it? Is it something you will be adding to your holiday shopping lists? Let’s see “A Show Of Hands” (sorry that was terrible I know but I cannot always be 100% serious). Since I never managed to get to see the tour I am adding this to my video library and on Blu-ray since I just love this medium. The band sure sounded tight but I expect no less of Alex, Geddy and Neil at this point. If they end up releasing any full video clips of songs I will make sure to add them in as follow-up items since one can never have too much Rush content on a music website after all. Let’s cross our fingers in the hopes that they do.
