Last night, the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards were given out for excellence in film and television. I shared the complete winners list over on “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken which you can explore HERE when the time permits but right now I am here to help celebrate and raise my fist in the air to two of the big wins across the program and the film “Bohemian Rhapsody” which we have discussed at some length over the last few months here on the website.

The first celebration goes to actor Rami Malek who won “Best Actor In A Drama”. Malek as you might have surmised portrayed the late great Freddie Mercury and I had to admit I thought that he was terrific in the role. I never saw Queen in concert and only have the numerous videos from MTV and concert footage from Eagle Rock Entertainment to show me what it was like and I must say that Malek seemed pretty spot on. Congratulations Rami.

This was the moment that everyone who tuned into the broadcast was waiting to see. Would “Bohemian Rhapsody” beat the likes of “Black Panther” and “A Star is Born” when all was said and done? It sure did…..

After the awards were handed out, we catch Brian and Roger of Queen with Malek, Mike Myers and Jim Beach along w Graham King discussing the honor. What a great moment for Freddie’s legacy.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I don’t have much more to add to this outside of saying that I truly loved the film. It kept me engaged from beginning to end and there were some truly moving moments when I felt as if something had gotten into my eyes and made my glasses all misty like. If you haven’t seen this one yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. Our posts about the release can be viewed HERE in terms of trailers and such and you should also put in your order for the Official Soundtrack and Home Video release care of Amazon.com down below. I know I am grabbing a copy as soon as its on Blu-ray and I will likely be popping in my “Queen At Wembley” after I press publish on this one since I am now craving some Queen classics. What a great start to the year its been already.
