Last night, Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand, announced the winners of their annual “Crunchyroll Anime Awards” in a virtual ceremony that was broadcast on their network. As noted in the nominations rundown, the Anime Awards are a celebration of the best and brightest in Japanese animation from 2020. The ceremony was hosted by Crunchyroll’s own Tim Lyu and I’ve left the nominated in the list of the winners so you can see who beat out the rest for the honor. Let’s review.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: That sure seems to be some list of awesome Anime winners. Now as I mentioned during the nomination narrative, with the cancellation of the anime conventions that I attend each year my background on many of the shows in the list were not stuff I was all that aware of. I am not the biggest study of the anime and manga format despite covering it all when possible for our Pop Culture series of narratives. The absence of concerts has found me leaning on a lot more of that stuff and I don’t mind since I am a big geek as well and am trying to get more acclimated to the assorted series. At present, I am NOT a subscriber to the Crunchyroll service since I am handling a Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+ subscription and there is only so much the wallet can handle. Maybe some good friends have the Blu-rays or some of the comic books that I need to be up to speed on. The first convention of this type that I attend would be the Liberty City Anime Con which is in July but at this rate I don’t see this or many of the others after it happening. Closing up I wonder what you readers with interest in this topic feel about the winners circle. Did your favorites win out? Were they cheated? Chime in down below in the comments section since it shows us that you are out there. See you next time.
