PiercingMetal Thoughts: Starting from the top, I’d love to see Rival Sons take home “Best Rock Performance” since they are such a cooking live band. I’ve seen them many times and hope that they bring home that bacon. For “Best Metal Performance” I’ve a coin to toss between the legendary Candlemass and Killswitch Engage. Since I don’t really see a lot of people discussing Candlemass as much as KSE, I’m going to think that Jesse, Adam and the boys take home the award. I’d give an honorable mention to Death Angel who have been killing it over the last few years but I still think they escape too many. “Best Rock Song” I am giving to Tool because the band is the topic of so much discussion based on their return and sold-out national performances. They played last night and try as much as I did, I couldn’t scare up a ticket to be a part of the spectacle but I digress. I’d like to see either Rival Sons or Bring Me The Horizon win for “Best Rock Album” and since I don’t know too much about the “Alternative Music Album” groups this time around will reach into the bag of marbles and pull out Vampire Weekend. Closing up I not only wonder what you think of these nominees for the categories that we follow on this here website, but I am also curious as to who you had hoped would be nominated but didn’t make the cut. You can share those thoughts down in the comments below. See you next time.
