Pray If You Must, Fox’s “The Exorcist” Series Official Trailer Is Here

So I admit that I wasn’t paying much attention and only recently learned that this was even going to be a new Horror/Supernatural series. You’ll have to indulge me in the oversight because I am usually so ensconced in the myriad amounts of superhero television shows and the movies. However, I’ve been trying to discuss the occasional spooky item here on the website now and with the trailer for the Fox series “The Exorcist”, think that it doesn’t get much spookier than this. Here we go. Don’t turn the lights off and make sure the doors and windows are secured.

The Premise/About The Show: According to what I’ve learned about the show, this is acting as a sequel to the 1973 film that still scares the bejeezus out of everyone worldwide. It’s had many sequels and prequels but nothing has struck people as horribly as the original. The demon Pazuzu will once again be up to his brand of netherworld nasty. Here is the cast for the series.

Main and Recurring Cast/Characters:
Alfonso Herrera as Father Tomas Ortega
Ben Daniels as Father Marcus Keane
Hannah Kasulka as Casey Rance
Brianne Howey as Katherine Rance
Kurt Egyiawan as Father Bennett
Alan Ruck as Henry Rance
Geena Davis as Angela Rance / Regan MacNeil
Robert Emmet Lunney as The Salesman / Captain Howdy / Pazuzu
Mouzam Makkar as Jessica
Kirsten Fitzgerald as Maria Walters
David Hewlett as the voice of the demon / Pazuzu
Sharon Gless as Chris MacNeil[5]
Camille Guaty as Olivia
Deanna Dunagan as Mother Bernadette
Torrey Hanson as Cardinal Guillot

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Believe it or not, I’ve never seen the original film. It’s one of those things that I have been getting around to doing for about thirty or so years. I guess I am truly not the horror person that so many of my friends are and that surprises me since I love a good spooking every now and again. Since this is a sequel series I might let the run of episodes take “possession” of my DVR and then find someone who has the film so I can get that off of my list of entertainment oversights. I don’t like watching sequels or connected films until I have seen the first chapter. That’s just me but how about you? Will you be holding someone close to you in a brightly lit room while this series plays out on the Fox network? Let me know what you think down in the comments section below.
