I’m several hours behind in the news about the Heavy Montreal Festival based on workload so here you go my friends. It’s a bummer for sure.
“HEAVY MONTRÉAL’s 2017 edition will be taking a year off in 2017 in order to return, stronger than ever, on July 28 & 29, 2018 at Parc Jean-Drapeau and on July 27, 2018 with Heavy in the City. While awaiting the return of the festival in July 2018, the Heavy Montréal team will continue to offer Heavy fans a rich lineup of more than a hundred rock and metal shows a year. The festival team is very excited to announce several events in early 2017 that Heavy fans are sure to enjoy!”
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Oh man that is a shame because this was going to be the year that I actually looked into heading into the fray as a member of the esteemed Metal Media. I’ve known some colleagues in the scene who had gone for a few years and they have said its a deluge of Metal happenings that are wonderful to behold and of course it would be super interesting to offer you readers something from out of the normal scope and landscape that we stomp upon. Oh well. Let’s cross our fingers that the 2018 proposed return is actually something that can happen. Lord only knows how much stuff like airfare and travel increase by the month and make adventuring outside of one’s territory a tad more difficult. Still, I am hopeful to attend one of these years in the future if it manages to get the breather that it seemed to need and can return bigger and better. What do you readers think about this festival cancellation for the upcoming new 2017 year? Have you ever been before? If so please chime in down in the comments below with your thoughts about it. I’d love to hear from you. Okay, back to the rest of the usual stuffs.
