It seems that the world of music fans have the likes of Twitter to thank based on David Gilmour’s wife Polly Samson leaking the news about the bands newest album “The Endless River” being presented to the public in October 2014. This will be their first album in twenty years and I have to say that I am pretty excited to hear this news even if it came from a Twitter account as opposed to an official piece of press copy. You can check out the image of this particular tweet which as you can see was shared several thousand times since it was sent out yesterday.

The Tweet pretty much says it all and cites that it is keyboardist Richard Wright’s swansong since its his last recordings with the legendary group. The musician passed away due to cancer in 2008 and I think it will be great to hear his final melodies since we have them. This news comes shortly after the 20th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s “The Division Bell” which was the last studio album released and shall be getting a super duper mastering treatment. I’ve embedded a link to that along with the rest of the bands back catalog for your consumption. Tune in to the bands official page for more details on this forthcoming album. One can only hope that a tour will be announced as well.
