A couple of months ago, my buddy Skeleton Pete and I joined the fine folks at Mezco Toyz over at the Ripley’s Believe it or not Odditorium to celebrate the reveal of their awesome “1960’s Batman and Batmobile” (which can be seen below for your enjoyment). This great event had an appearance by Batman himself who drove right up Times Square in the legendary Batmobile. Okay so it was a very “he looks just like him” impersonator but I admit to feeling like a little kid when I saw it drive up.
Today’s event was something entirely different but no less special and depending on your level of collecting mania, this could very well have been the event of the year. You see, Mezco was opening up their warehouse for the very first time to the public and letting them get their hands on one of a kind items along with production test models, limited editions and showroom models. Once again I was joined by my partner in media crime Skeleton Pete and hoped that my credit card would not explode after this visit to their Long Island City location. Let’s see what’s going on over here today.
This particular presentation will be a mostly “photo only” display because so many of the properties that the company has are so instantly recognizable to fans of the Horror, Science Fiction and Animated films. I will chime in from time to time as I feel necessary so let’s begin and by all means enjoy.
Here’s our Press Rep at Mezco, Mr. Mike Drake
The Media 🙂
These were cute for sure…..
Look! Up on the wall, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the Living Dead Dolls!!!!
Check out these cool coffin case boxes for “Living Dead Dolls”
Shooting for Spike TV
Say hello to my little action figure 🙂
Test Shot sets are something for the extreme collectors. This is some of the one of a kind things that I referenced would be on sale today for the interested parties.
You know you want a cuddly Jigsaw Killer
Now these were pretty weird, ladies and gents “The Gangsta Babies”
Chucky is clearly ready to slay….I mean “play”, err……
Behind every bad man is an even badder woman…..
Here are The Green Hornet and Kato in Mezitz
From “The Watchmen”
From “Austin Powers” Franchise
Here’s Walter White from the hit show “Breaking Bad”; Don’t laugh but I have only started getting into this show on Netflix but I will tell you that it is amazing.
I loved these next things. Dig in….
Talk about one of a kind things. These are what is called the “Paint masters” and that means this is the final okay of what goes into production. The Scream Grabs are a part of the “Cinema Of Fear” collection and they bring classic scenes of horror to miniature model life. Spooky.
Now here is an interesting take on “Alice In Wonderland” welcome to “Scary Tales”
I realized that I have a couple of duplicate shots, and this is one of them but look so damned cute 🙂
One of the largest properties in terms of offered figures is “South Park” – Let’s look at a few of their offerings.
The same applies for “Family Guy”. They had crates of this properties action figures up for grabs today and if you were a fan of the show you made out like a bandit. Dig in….
and now back to the rest of the wandering….
Another great example of being able to own something that no one else will have. Ever.
Back at that Batman reveal event, the fans all received one of these. I did too – giddity 🙂
Our friend from Spike TV had an awesome iPhone case.
These next few visuals were not of “for sale” things at all but just some of the coolness that was in the offices. I had to share them with you since they struck my fancy.
So that’s all we got for you with this one folks, I’d like to thank Drake and Mezco Toyz in general for inviting us to this fantastic event. Don’t be looking to purchase any of these exclusives that you have seen here from the company since the folks we saw were leaving with shopping bags full and credit cards of flame. There was not a whole lot left when we walked out despite there being another day of the sale. Of course you can keep an eye on what Mezco Toyz is up to via their official site. I guess I will be seeing them all next at October’s Comic Con over at the Javits Center.

Oh yes, I couldn’t resist sharing a photo from the Batman event that they held for those who might have missed it. This Batmobile and its Mezitz Minis of the Caped Crusader and Robin is available in specialty shops across the country. You know you want it.
