Now this was a whole lot of fun. Just the other night, I was invited to participate in one of the great Talking Metal podcasts by their hosts Mark Strigl and John Ostronomy.
To think back on it, I knew about the show for a couple of years longer than I actually knew the guys and since they started their first show in 2005, have to figure that both PiercingMetal and Talking Metal are very close in birthdays. Needless to say we hit it off immediately once we did meet. Nice to see another hard working resource still holding up the sharpened sword for Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. For the recording of this podcast we would convene at Duke’s Bar on 19th Street. This place has pretty much become the start off point for many area Metal heads who are hitting shows at Irving Plaza and Gramercy Theatre, and big props to Steve Keeler of Rock Fantasy who first turned me onto the place.
It was great to sit down with John and Mark and talk about what the PiercingMetal realm is all about at this point in time and to participate in some of the other discourse that was going on about the current state of Metal affairs.

We asked the bartender Erin to take a couple of snaps for us as a group and of course joined by two of the lovely Dukette’s. In pink is Samantha and the blue is Lillian. Thanks ladies for joining us in this fun.
Back in early 2008 I had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of their “Talking Metal on Fuse” television show that ran from 2007 to 2008 for a season before network changes. The program was a great one and appealed to all who got to see it. This was before “That Metal Show” of course and in many cases spoke to the current state of Metal more that the other program has been able to based on it being on VH1 Classic. In case you never saw the “Talking Metal on Fuse” episode that little ole me took part in with the guys, I’ve embedded it from their official YouTube Channel. I was one of their couch guests and don’t worry, I’ve dropped a few of those pounds since it aired in early 2008 🙂
These days the Social Networks are important in building a presence (but you knew that already). Here are some important links for the Talking Metal podcast that I think you will enjoy. Go give them some traffic, some likes and some follows. Oh yes and do the same for our own if you have not yet done so.
