Hello and welcome back to the coverage from the American International Toy Fair for 2015. I am picking up from where I left off with some more images from our very first visit to the Hasbro Showroom. Let’s go.
In my previous post, I had just begun sharing the images of the soon to come “Transformers” line of toys and I ALWAYS loved these. I’m not personally collecting them at this point in life but I still think they rock and somewhere in one of my many boxes in storage are a few dozen of the original line of toys. As Optimus Prime would say “Let’s Roll Out” and enjoy the new Hasbro Toys goodies.
I LOVED this new “Devastator”. The figure is massive and listed as a “Combiner Wars Devastator”. He is a “Constructicon” and forms like this when you connect several other smaller Constructicons. I have the original one somewhere, at least I hope I do.
You are not imagining things and are indeed looking at what amounts to be the largest figure ever made to date for the Transformers line. This is Fortress Maximus and he stands about 18″ tall if I was gauging correctly. Talk about doing play in a big way. Watch out Decepticons.
That brought me to the end of the items that I was most eager to see and as I walked out I was given a glimpse of a Transformers mobile game and was handed a couple of these cool magnets to display on my fridge.
There were also some cool Monopoly displays in the entrance foyer. This remains one of my favorite games ever.
I had to stop when I saw these Marvel Comics themed Play Doh canisters. I grew up with this stuff and am so happy that it remains popular with the little ones of the modern age.
I was able to take back several cans of the Play Doh stuff and they would be going off to my friends kids for sure. Maybe I will keep one for myself for the media desk for those more stressful times in journalism. Sending us off was a giant Chewbacca Furby.
So there you have it. Quite a bit of awesome items to stockpile around the holidays or for birthdays and the like. I greatly enjoyed this exploration as many of these licenses are items that I have been into for many years. Now it was time to head back down to the Javits Center over the snow and tundra that laid upon our city streets. It was cold but manageable and I hope that the currently in progress “7” line extension is ready by next years event. Oh and let me close up by saying that Hasbro Toys sends you home with an amazing goodie bag. I’m not going to brag about it with photos but it did include a Marvel Legends, Star Wars and Transformers action figure which was pretty awesome.
