Continuing along in our coverage of the NY Comic Con 2011 we are still focused on the happenings and sights that were found during the third day of the adventure. This is really the busiest of the days and if you took the preceding two days and tomorrow in terms of number it would still be less than the amount of people that come through the Javits Center on Saturday. That being said let’s get down to business….
First up is the booth for the film “Silver Circle”. They were doing a test screening for the fans that had interest but I sadly did not have time for this kind of stuff with all the other adventures to undertake. The film takes place in a world after the economy has collapsed. Sounds like some of the stuff that is going on today so I am not too eager to get there.
The Mario Brothers do not have anything on these lovely sisters. What amused me was that their own real initials were M and L just like the famous video game siblings.
A Pokemon Cosplay and her Friend
Here’s the rep at the Harlequin Books table. She said that she would be in costume on the final day of the Con, and while it might have been better for her to do this today, we said we would come back and visit on Sunday to see if she was a girl of her word.
Here is the booth of RetCon and the lovely ladies that they had getting them some added attention. You will find this being the case a lot at the Con. RetCon is a convention for Gamers that is run by Gamers.
Right next to them was the Gen Manga booth and this young lady was hoping to tell you more about them. They are essentially a company that is more independent and gets the Manga right from the talented artists into your hands via the Internet.
You might remember the Vixens Of Virtue, Vixens Of Vice from last year’s Con and if not let me please inform you that they were back here again this time around.
These two Cosplayers are right out of The Watchmen and bringing the Silk Spectre to vivid life.
These two stunning Cosplayers were helping to rep a work in progress movie that I think Kevin Smith is doing. I knew that one was Supergirl but the other outfit escaped me in terms of character. Needless to say the ladies were getting some wonderful attention from the convention goers. I even helped take a couple of photos of the fans who asked.
Here’s the chaps of Comixtribe. They are a website and an online community for comic creators.
Here’s Howie Noel who we met last year. He is the brains behind “Tara Normal, Paranormal Investigator”.
The other day we showed you a stunning young lass dressed as the Black Widow. She was working the convention as an interviewer and today she was a superb Psylocke.
This booth showcased the book “Jaws: Memories From Martha’s Vineyard” and was all about the making of the classic suspense movie “Jaws”. The book looked awesome but struck me as more of the kind of thing best served up at the Book Expo America as opposed to Comic Con. Nice people though and we wish them the best with this massive book.
This is a coffee table book and is loaded with great images and notes about the film that kept people out of the water for many, many months.
Please welcome the Uncanny Undergrads to the Convention. They were presenting copies of their “Shudders” magazine for all to see.
Numerous copies of “Shudders” magazine. It’s Long Island based and focused on the Horror medium.
Here are two more fantastic DC Comics Cosplayers
This was truly a fantastic four and while I could not resist the Marvel-ous pun you have to admire this great Alpha Flight Cosplay. That’s Aurora, Northstar, Puck and Vindicator from L to R.
Now we pay a visit to Chris Hamer and his “Urbnpop” Booth. Nice guy and some interesting stuff
This amazing Wonder Woman cosplay was up next and making quite the stir in Artist Alley. When I asked her what her name was so she could see the eventual posted image she replied “Diana”. It took me a moment but very funny Miss. Excellent work on the outfit for sure.
Here’s Danny Fingeroth. He is a long time Marvel Comics name and he was presenting his book about the mighty Stan Lee. I flipped through this tome and can say that if you are a fan of the man that you should pick one up.
Here’s the lovely Cambria Evans, an Illustrator of charming stuff for sure.
Here is a lovely pair of Cosplays, a Captain America-ette and a bedazzling Dazzler. You might think she is a tall drink of water but she is actually on roller skates. Great work ladies.
The Atomic-Robo booth and one of his creative team
This was a cool Cosplay even though I didn’t know the character
Here is the booth of Alex Saviuk. I remember fondly some of his work on Spider-Man
Here is Laura Lee Gulledge at her booth and displaying her “Page by Paige” stuff
Right next to her booth was Elliot Fernandez
Next up we see Psylocke interviewing someone at the Con.
This lovely lady was helping out her fiance’s booth. Does this make her an Art Roadie?
Here is the Glass Eye Pix booth and they are a Horror themed company. I loved their buttons as well. They had one that said “Satan Hates You” which struck me as very Metal.
This is a great couple of Cosplayers. Wonder Man and Ms. Marvel.
I saw this big guy at the Big Apple Comic Con I think, unless he was dressed like this last year as well. I have to check. Still imposing.
Who are you? Well Doctor Who of course….
I had no idea that Cobra Commander was now seeing Wonder Woman.
A fantastic Archangel Cosplay and the second that I observed at the Con.
Sadly this lovely lass was NOT bringing me the Starbuck’s Java but she did pause for a photo. I didn’t have the hear to tell this charming Playmate Bunny that the television show had been cancelled.
If Twisted Sister had gone with a super hero theme, it might have looked something like this. Nice work guys, err “ladies”…..funny stuff.
Clearly money talks as we see how Booster Gold is quite the ladies man and is hanging with the likes of both Black Canary and Super Woman.
And here is a great Rogue Cosplay
There was a giant clear cube with a few dozen Marvel figures in it to show just what you could do if you had the space and this many figures along with the time.
Have you had enough yet or are you ready for more? If you answered “yes” to the first part of the question then I feel bad for you as we still have some considerable ways to go. If you said “no” then we are happy to let you know that Part 3 is coming up soon but in the meantime please click around on some of the websites for those very creative people who we happened to focus on in this posting.
