Phish Announce Fall 2018 Tour

I recently mused how we were starting to see the Fall 2018 tours despite the summer not even being here and with that, let’s get a look at the recent press from the folks behind the scenes of the Jamtastic band Phish.

The Press Release:
Phish has announced plans for a 14-date Fall tour, set to get underway October 16 with a double-header at Albany, NY’s Times Union Center and then concluding with a four-night Halloween run – beginning October 31 – at Las Vegas, NV’s MGM Grand Garden Arena. The tour also includes three-night stands at Hampton, VA’s Hampton Coliseum (October 19-21) and Chicago, IL’s Allstate Arena (October 26-28) as well as two nights at Nashville, TN’s Ascend Amphitheater (October 23-24).

An ticket request period is currently underway at tickets.phish.com through Tuesday, May 29 at 9am ET. All remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, June 1 and continuing through Saturday, June 2. In addition, Phish and CID Entertainment are also offering limited travel packages (which include hotel and tickets) for the Hampton, Chicago, and Las Vegas runs. Travel Packages go on sale Thursday, May 31 at 12pm local time. For complete information, please visit http://phish.com.

The tour announcement precedes Phish’s eagerly awaited summer run, set to get underway July 17 and 18 with a pair of sold out shows at Stateline, NV’s Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys and then continue through the band’s eighth annual Labor Day Weekend residency at Commerce City, CO’s Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on August 31-September 2. Most dates on the 21-show run are now sold out – for details and ticket availability, please visit phish.com/tours.

The summer tour will also see Phish staging their eagerly awaited 11th festival, Curveball. Slated for August 17-19 at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, NY, Curveball will see Phish offering a series of unique live performances, alongside an array of activities, attractions and art installations. Located amidst the rolling hills of Central New York’s Finger Lakes region, the festival site offers an abundance of campsites just a short drive from numerous Northeastern cities. Limited remaining tickets for Curveball are on sale now. For weekend passes, camping, on-site accommodations, and travel packages, please visit phish.com/curveball.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve said this before and I will repeat it for those folks who are newer readers of our posts, I have never, ever, ever seen the band Phish in action in the live sense and my background is rather limited in terms of their recorded works as well. Truth be told I wasn’t much of the Jam Band guy when I was getting into music and leaned more towards the heavier side of the fence. As I matured I’ve expanded my musical interests and would love to finally get them into my bands caught in concert. These dates will make that hard since there isn’t anything in NYC but maybe they will do another New Year’s Eve Pre and Post run. I’d be game for sure. There are groups of my friends who love them and some even saw most of the shows on that recent “Baker’s Dozen” run. That’s all I have on this one, and I wonder what you think about the tour. Chime in down below.
