PiercingMetal Thoughts: My interest in the music of Phil Collins comes primarily for his contributions as a member of the legendary Genesis. I never saw them back in the original heyday when they were Progressive Rock innovators and must admit that my only chance to catch them in the live sense was during the more Pop-oriented MTV days of “Invisible Touch” and “Land Of Confusion” since a girl that I really, really liked was quite the diehard about them at this particular time but I digress ? I did love his first solo album “Face Value” and can humbly admit that I still find myself playing air drums during that part of “In The Air Tonight” and if you find yourself laughing at me at this disclosure I challenge you to admit that you haven’t done so yourself. Now despite this interest I have never caught him live as a solo artist and am very glad he has chosen to step out of retirement for some special performances. I’m going to be looking to attend both of our regional appearances and to snag a copy of his biography since its surely going to be an interesting read. I might do that during the upcoming Book Expo since I am attending as Press and there is bound to be a copy on site should the publisher also be in attendance. What do you readers think about this one? Are you interested in this tour at all? Let me know down in the comments section below. You know I love hearing from you.
