Out Today: “Batman: Year One” (10/18/2011)

The next in the line of fine DC Comics universe animated features arrives via “Batman: Year One” and that is great news since this is such a classic tale in the rich history of The Dark Knight.

For those who don’t know the story behind “Batman: Year One”, its the beginnings of our Caped Crusader and was originally presented in comic book form back in 1987. The tale was written by Frank Miller with art by David Mazzucchelli. It was a great tale so I am excited to see it being released as one of the DC Animated features. Sometimes I think its better that they do them in this fashion as opposed to taking too much time on a live action film. The film will also include a separate Catwoman feature to enjoy and that is great since it allows for the expansion of the animated DC Universe and gives fans more bang for the buck. The cast (well, their voices) are listed below.

The Cast:
Benjamin McKenzie as Bruce Wayne / Batman
Eliza Dushku as Selina Kyle / Catwoman
Bryan Cranston as Lieutenant James Gordon
Katee Sackhoff as Detective Sarah Essen
Alex Rocco as Carmine Falcone
Jon Polito as Commissioner Gillian B. Loeb
Jeff Bennett as Alfred Pennyworth
Grey DeLisle as Barbara Eileen-Gordon
Keith Ferguson as Jefferson Skeevers
