The future is a bleak landscape that is ruled by the technological tyranny of Skynet and despite this horrible scenario there are forces at work that seek to change that this ever happened. For years we have enjoyed watching “Ahhnold” as The Terminator who was reprogrammed to aid mankind thanks to the efforts of John Connor and now the next chapter in this thrilling mythology is here. Well, he did say “I’ll be back” after all. Check out the poster and some premise for this tale below and if you missed our post about the trailer just click HERE to see it.

Partial Plot:
In 2029, John Connor, leader of the human resistance, leads the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John’s fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when John is notified by his army unit, Tech-Com, that Skynet will attack him from two fronts, past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever.

On the verge of winning the war against Skynet, Connor sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back through time to 1984 to save his mother’s life and ensure his own existence. However, Kyle finds the original past changed; he meets an alternate version of Connor’s mother, Sarah Connor, who already knows about Skynet, Judgment Day, and Reese’s predestined roles as both her protector and yet-to-be conceived son’s father. A decade before, a Terminator was sent back in time to kill Sarah as a child and so the Resistance sent their own cyborg back in time to protect her; their arrivals on that point in time causes a fractured timeline that differs from Kyle’s.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve greatly enjoyed the Terminator franchise films but never did see the “Salvation” one that had Christian Bale in it. Not sure how that happened but oh well, there is always Netflix and online streaming to resolve that particular issue. The new film intrigues me because they seem to have shifted gears with the storyline and have offered up a drastic shift in the timeline that we didn’t expect. Based on the trailer that I have seen a number of times it sure does look action packed which is what I want from this film. What do you readers think about this one? Will you be checking it out during this holiday weekend or do you plan on waiting for its inevitable home video release? Let me know in the comments below as I always love hearing what my fellow film fans think. I think that I am seeing this on opening day based on my actually having some time to do so.

You can click the Wiki below to learn a little bit more about the overall premise but be advised that there is already a bulk of the films play by play and this film has only been seen by those with advance privileges. Should you plan on waiting then go ahead but otherwise wait until you catch it.

Official Film Wiki:

I’ve embedded a bunch of the franchises releases for those who might still be building their collection.
