While many of the press outlets have gotten to see the film and offer up their take, today is the official opening day for the Lamb Of God documentary “As The Palace’s Burn”. The poster is below.
About the Film: As The Palaces Burn is a feature-length documentary that originally sought to follow the band and their fans throughout the world, to demonstrate how music ties us together when we can’t find any other common bond. However, during the filming process in 2012, the story abruptly took a dramatic turn, bringing the band into a Kafkaesque nightmare, when lead singer Randy Blythe was arrested on charges of manslaughter, blamed for the death of one of their young fans in the Czech Republic. What followed was a heart-wrenching courtroom drama that left fans, friends, and curious onlookers around the world on the edge of their seats.
Thinking back on the films larger premise when this news was breaking I can only say that this was a story that kept the fans and Metal press representatives on their nerves end. The information that was flowing out of the Czech Republic was limited at best when this was all happening but I quickly remember the shock that all of the Metal fans had and how upsetting it was to learn that such a thing had come to pass. You want drama? Here you go. Are you excited for this film? Will you see it in the theaters or wait until it ends up on DVD or Blu-ray and gets you some bonus features like we always find being the case. I’ll be seeing it at the Highline Ballroom when they hold a screening in NYC on 3/3 but the rest of you out of town fans will have to check your own area listings to see where you can enjoy the film and eat copious amounts of popcorn, and Sour Patch Kids. If you live in NYC you can click on the Ticket Image below to order tickets for the Highline Ballroom screening (while supplies last). It’s only $10 in advance but $15 at the door.
Check out the trailer below and tell me that you don’t want to see this film. I dare you 🙂
Fans are encouraged to keep up with the bands music and touring happenings via their official website which is linked below and of course you can poke around on the films main site as well. Links to the various social networking mediums can be found there too if that is what you seek.
