Opening: Paramount Pictures “Rings” @ Theaters Everywhere

A few months ago I mentioned how I had been asked about the overall lack of announcing the more popular Horror film releases here on the website and since that time I’ve begun adding the appropriate trailers and plan on continuing the process with relevant openings in the theater. Today marks the release of “Rings” a surely creeptastic third chapter in the Americanized franchise of Japan’s “The Ring”. If you missed my post with the extended trailer click HERE to see it so you know what you are getting in to. The official theatrical release poster and some casting is below.

The Plot: 13 years after the events of the first chapters of the horror franchise. (thanks Wiki).

Some Cast:
Matilda Lutz as Julia
Alex Roe as Holt
Johnny Galecki as Gabriel
Vincent D’Onofrio as Burke
Aimee Teegarden as Skye
Bonnie Morgan as Samara
Chuck David Willis as Blue

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though this sounds interesting I am not likely to see it until I get around to re-watching the first chapter and seeing the second since I am a big continuity guy. Are you a fan of this particular franchise? Will you be seeing it in the theater or waiting until home video release? Let me know in the comments section below. Don’t spoil it though for good measure since that is never a nice thing to do. More about the film can be learned via its official Wikipedia entry but be aware that upon release this will be rife with plot spoilers so have a care. Samara is watching you.

  1. Not a fan of remakes, but The Ring was a good movie, in some way even better than the Japanese original. As far as sequels are concerned.. nah, they usually suck. Didn’t even know here was a “second chapter”.
