It was just before Halloween when we shared the Official Trailer #2 for the brand-new Star Wars series “The Mandalorian” and this series is now live on the newly launched Disney+ streaming service. Below you can find the official poster and some other coolness, and I’ll return at the close with some editorial opinion.
The Premise: Star Wars: The Mandalorian takes place a few years “after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order” and follows “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic”.
Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian
Gina Carano as Cara Dune
Carl Weathers as Greef Carga
Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing
Taika Waititi as the voice of IG-11
Mark Boone Junior
501st Legion as Stormtrooper Extras
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I neglected to mention above that “The Mandalorian” will be episodic and show a new episode each and every week until the series completes. This is not the same as the binge watch the whole thing on the first day like Netflix offers. I am not too sure I like that but I seldom manage to binge full series at a single clip anyway. Though I’ve been watching my Facebook Feed to see which friends are jumping on to the service straight away I am actually not going to be one of them and the main reason is because I am still using a PS3 Gaming System and Disney+ is NOT available on this. I did some poking around and it comes up as an app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and my Kindle Fire Tablet, but I am not too sure that I want to lay out the cash to enjoy this on so small a device. I am super stoked about the series but I either need to get a Roku Box, a PS4 or a Smart TV at this point and right now I am keeping any surplus cash for the looming holidays. So that’s my deal but I wonder about all of you readers and am curious as to which of you are already signed up for the service. Chime in down below and please no spoilers about the show.
